GameDay Questions and Predictions
GameDay is in 4 days! I have some questions about GameDay. What time are they allowing people into the area? Also it is at the Diag? Also for the rest of people who don't have answers, predictions for saturday? The game and Corso's ridiculous head gear...

You should get there super early if you want a good spot. This weekend is going to be crazy in A2 and I am so excited.

Why would you ever get downvoted for that?

57 f-cking degrees?! What the hell is that?? I guess I'll be sporting long pants . . . Us southerners don't like cold weather and 57 degrees in September is cold!

Low temperatures are usually recorded around midnight...
If this forecast holds true, I'd expect it to be a pretty nice fall evening in the high 60s, and get a lil chilly by the end. It would suck if it rained, but just a 40% chance now, and just showers, at that.

this AM, the rain is supposed to end Saturday morning. Fingers crossed for a dry tailgate.
Please help...where is this Ingalls Mall located that ESPN will broadcast from? How far from the stadium? Thanks!

It's due north of the Diag, between the Burton Tower/Hill Auditorium/MLB and the Alumni Center/Michigan League. I would estimate about half-hour/40 minutes to the Stadium by foot. (TIME SAVER: Head down State St. to Monroe or Madison, cut down Cross St. to Division, cut across Elbel Field to Hoover.)

that sounds pretty easy. Wife #2 turned out that way as well.

Game day will be smooth and warm. I don't see the game going well. But I'm just a gentleman with a certain feeling based on certain observations.
September 6th, 2011 at 9:34 PM ^
gameday will be warm? Forecast is for rain again.. Although i said that last time and got jumped on because everyone said it wasn't going to rain because it was 30-40% chance..
Well looks like the same forecast again..
Should be nice and cool for gametime in the 60's.. Hoping it doesn't rain, but if it does ill have rain gear ready this time

I meant warm like reborn soul warm. Not warm like heat activated lubricant warm. Warm like fingernail ripping warm. Warm like godlike eyes warm.

ND will be super-motivated to vindicate themselves.
However, I have to believe our coaches will be watching a lot of last year's film and may have a surprise or two in store for the Irish.
Fingers crossed big time.

Gameday is setting up outside of Ingalls Mall
September 6th, 2011 at 9:43 PM ^
Really? I go to school at Pioneer and I've seen them set up in the pioneer front area (the grass across from the stadium). I've seen some frames for large signs and a stage complete with a table in the gameday shape. Are you sure they're setting up at Ingalls? Could they be using both? Perhaps they are setting up here too so they can get shots of the stage with the huge gameday crowd in the background for their pregame coverage.

"Among the day's events will be national coverage by ESPN during the game and from 9 a.m. to noon during the network's College Game Day, which will be broadcast from central campus, at Ingalls Mall"

I thought I heard that the city has put up signs preventing gameday parking in certain residential areas, not for just this game, but for the season.

what time are people going to get to gameday ?
September 6th, 2011 at 11:22 PM ^
When we went for the OSU game a few years back, they had announced what time "gates" opened the night before. Hopefully they do that again this year. My friends and I were planning on camping out around 6:00 AM.

Is gameday for sure still in AA? I thought there was talk of moving it since ND was un-feated.
September 6th, 2011 at 10:26 PM ^
Look at the link I posted earlier in the thread.

Ok thanks! I wasn't sure if that was dated info... but it sounds like it is a sure thing. This game is going to be EPIC!

is a michigan win, and crying noteredame fans.......i hope

ND's performance on Saturday took this game out of the "autoloss" catagory for me. I'm guessing Michigan 27, ND 26.

40% chance of showers doesn't bother me. I just saw an ad on ESPN for the game. It got me pumped up.

to see how that setup works on Ingalls Mall. They've chosen some strange spots the other times they came to broadcast. One year they were even inside the stadium concourse (as in not on the field but in a spot where vendors would have been! Then there was the year on the golf course, and the time across the street from the stadium gates (near that service road that becomes Hoover). I wasn't expecting Ingalls Mall but I bet they'll get a huge crowd with it being so centrally located.

SportsNation set up at Ingalls Mall earlier this year.

the drunkest day in Ann Arbor's history.

I'm trying to decide what potent-potables to consume in preparation for this joyous occasion. Having recently watched Beerfest, I'm inspired to have glorious brews of all kinds.
I have moved beyond the Nattys, Millers and Busches of the world, but I don't have a lot of expert beer experience having just graduated. Any suggestions friends? I'm a fan of IPAs and medium to darker beers.

I tried the Edmond Fitzgerald beer the other day from the Great Lakes Brewing CO. Surprisingly good for a beer brewed in OH!

It would be great to tailgate and party from 9 AM through kickoff! I would be feeling good by game time. I wish I had this weekend off work and was able to make it!
As for the game, it may be kind of high scoring. I could see UM 35 - ND 31. DROB may win it for us again on the last drive of the game!
September 7th, 2011 at 8:36 AM ^
Do u see rain helping us more than ND?
September 7th, 2011 at 8:47 AM ^
UM 35 ND 14. Borges lets Denard run wild on offense which opens up the passing game and Denard runs for 175 yards while passing for 311 and accounts for all 4 offensive TD's (2 passing and 2 rushing. The UM defense show marked improvement from last week and forces 4 turnovers, one going for a TD late to put the game out of reach (it is an INT return for a TD by Thomas Gordan). It is at this point that BK's head asplodes after turning 15 different shades of purple (which was previously thought to be impossible).

will predict ND. No question about it. Herbie will pick M.

"But Michael Jordan will be held to under 200 points"
If you think Michigan wins by 21 or more points you are nuts.
