Game day Parking Recommendations

Submitted by JTGoBlue on August 9th, 2022 at 5:56 PM

Dear all,

The private lot that I have been parking at for the last ~15 years has sold its management to parknparty, with many new rules in place, including ‘no trucks’.  Sort of ironic, right?

Anyway, I’m aware of the myriad options, AA Pioneer, golf course, etc, but really would prefer a private lot.

Any recommendations?

Go Blue!

Because it's like rain on your wedding day. Or a free ride when you've already paid. Or even the good advice, that you just didn't take.

(None of which is actually ironic, of course. Not unless you lived in Seattle and moved your wedding to Southern California to lower the chances of it raining on your big day).

There are a few open spots at Washtenaw News on Industrial.  I've parked here for a number of years.  The owners are great, and you'll have use of an indoor restroom until kickoff.  You can arrive whenever you want and your space will always be open, if you purchase the spot for the whole year.

Need more info...how far away from the stadium can you go? Obviously you want a truck...what about pets? RV? Grills? Bathrooms?

Last, when you say private...do you mean like someone's house? Or just not parknparty? I ask because I know of a couple of churches that offer parking, but I don't know how that would be any more private than parknparty. It's still someone standing on the street collecting cash and waving you in.

To me, where you want to park depends entirely on what you want to do before and/or after the game and how fresh your legs are.

I don't get to town early. I prefer to drink and carouse in bars or restaurants after the game. I've always liked parking in the downtown structures on Thompson south of Liberty or the one on Ann west of Main. It's a bit of a healthy walk, but I prefer to park and walk. Plus, it's easy to get out of town afterward
