DUDE that's awesome. I hope he's right and I hope you're not making this up. Robinson and Witty are from Florida. Anyone else I'm missing? It's not Stokes or Washington or Montgomery.

i copy and pasted his comments from my facebook wall. i should add, however, that this conversation took place apprx. 2 weeks ago, so you never know what could have changed since then. I've just been waiting for a good time to post what he said, and I think tonight is the perfect night for it.

While I think we've taken our love/obsession for Ricardo too far, I love the work the kid is doing. He's a really great guy, if you friend him on facebook he'll talk to you, he's the kind of kid we want around Ann Arbor. So I hope he's preachin hard, lol.

I'm not joking, even a little bit: Every time I hear about an (adult?) fan having facebook and myspace conversations with 17-year-old kids, I get completely and utterly skeeved out, and worried for these kids. Not because you're a rapist (you're probably not), but because these kids naively let hundreds of people gain access to their lives, and the second they decommit, or drop a pass, or get arrested with weed, or anything, they have hundreds of strangers whom they've "disappointed" with access to give them a piece of their mind. Seriously, let this kid be 17, and leave him the fuck alone.

there's nothing wrong with dropping a pass. that stuff happens. when you bitch at a kid is when he let's that get him down and sulks about it or if he gives less effort because of it. or, in one case, a player faking an injury after he dropped a pass and costing the team a timeout. also, i actually am one of those guys who doesn't crucify a kid for de-committing. however, there can be exceptions. for instance, shav beaver lied before he de-committed. if there's one thing bo didn't accept, it was lying (in case you didn't gather, my entire football philosophy is based on Bo)

True, they are not "necessarily" the same people. But I bet a decent number are. Further, I agree Ricardo could just ignore it, and I sort of wish he would. But it's pretty hard for a 17-year-old kid to turn away legions of people who come to fawn over him. He's getting the praise now, and he's taking it - what happens when these people turn nasty (which some will)? So, yeah - just because he's accepting friend requests doesn't mean he should have these people close. A 6-year-old has the option to not take a lolipop from a pedo, too. (I realize that's absurdly extreme, but still)

That's cool that he has time and is willing to interact with you. I'm sure you reiterated the love everyone has for him on here. Or, on second thought, don't tell him...that may freak him out and decide to go to tulsa!

http://tech.yahoo.com/news/nm/20090203/tc_nm/us_myspace_offenders all kidding aside thanks for the info. But you might want to read some of what recruits say about the recruiting process. And consider for this kid this is new and we are feeding his teen aged ego. He may get tired of all the attention, or he may get creeped out. Just don't over do the attention. RR and staff have a hard enough time "de recruiting these kids once they get on campus. I'm just sayin

I think TomVH will back me on this one, but from all that I have read on Ricardo, he's a humble kid and while the attention is well received, he's not going to suddenly grow a big head.

Remember HS relationships? Two people, totally in love? Making out in the hallway? Saying they'd be together forever? Then something ridiculous happens, like the guy forgets to get his girlfriend her customary double portion of extra fat ranch, and they hate each other? The girl refuses to be in the same class, party, etc with the guy? The guy spreads horrible rumors about her? And all this happens because HS kids are terribly fickle? Just sayin'
