Wasn't sure about this season, but didn't think twice after Harbough was hired.

Your disposable income is not PTSD. Even if sarcastic, I would argue PTSD is not something to joke about. Thanks.

I know it's not something to joke about. However, "PTSD" is what came to mind when I read the original post. So, whoever made the remark may be only pointing out the foolishness of not communicating well.

My BIL is a USMC combat vet who was in some of the worst fighting in Viet Nam, and he's been suffering from PTSD for many years. Thankfully, it's been comparatively mild compared to other vets, and it hasn't prevented him from leading a reasonably happy and "normal" life. I would agree that actual combat- or violence-related PTSD is nothing to joke about.
That being said, from what I see, "PTSD" has entered the American lexicon as a more general term denoting shock or trauma from more mundane causes, much in the same way that "shellshock" is now a fairly generic term even though it originated during WWI. That's the spirit in which I used the term, playing off the similar PSD in a clumsy attempt at wordplay.

You didnt find it funny and that's fair. Others did and that's also fair.

That causes people to have violent flashbacks, night terrors, suicidal ideations amongst other things is not funny. I would encourage you to watch the HBO documentary Wartorn, and then tell me how funny Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is, and how it relates to giving disposable income to the Michigan athletic department. I had a friend who was involved with a double murder suicide due to his PTSD from OEF, so personally I do not find it funny at all.

I strongly encourage you to focus your energy on increasing your skin density, rather than attempting to stop the Internet from making jokes that you find offensive.

I strongly encourage you to shut the fuck up
A US marine is telling you not to joke about PTSD. The only proper response is "yes sir, sorry sir, thank you sir for your sacrifices for our country"
I am a godless pot-smoking hippie atheist pacifist and yet the above is *obvious* to me. what's your excuse?

Take offense to grown men hiding behind their computers, who make ignorant comments. Hell, that's your birth right as an American, I suppose.

Im not saying PTSD is hilarious. I am however saying PTSD is a worthy topic to explore through and with humor. I am also saying those who are concerned with or dedicated to outlinining which topics are suitable and unsuitable for humor are wasting their time. Certainly not all jokes are created equal which means not every PTSD joke is or should be regarded as funny, but to suggest that no PTSD joke is humorous is a lie and to say PTSD is an off limits topic to explore with humor is totalitarian. We're not asking you to laugh about it. We are however asking that you give others who do find it funny the space to react in a way they see fit. If you find it inappropriate then make your feelings known to the group and move along, agree to disagree. Youre not wrong and youre not right. And in instances of humor, neither are the people you oppose.

Was Don's joke funny? No. Was it easy? Sure. Does he have the right to make the joke? Yep. Do you have the right to disagree? Yep. Soooo now what? Agree to disagree. Aaaaaaaaaaand?

He committed suicide when I was very young... Only 14. He would kick your ass for making this thread about this. No marine would be so careless and thin skinned about the comment Dan made.

The AD has really improved the web experience of paying online.
However, they charged my credit card twice this year for a total $2,400, thereby creating spousal issues for a moment or two.
