I know it's not something to joke about. However, "PTSD" is what came to mind when I read the original post. So, whoever made the remark may be only pointing out the foolishness of not communicating well.

My BIL is a USMC combat vet who was in some of the worst fighting in Viet Nam, and he's been suffering from PTSD for many years. Thankfully, it's been comparatively mild compared to other vets, and it hasn't prevented him from leading a reasonably happy and "normal" life. I would agree that actual combat- or violence-related PTSD is nothing to joke about.
That being said, from what I see, "PTSD" has entered the American lexicon as a more general term denoting shock or trauma from more mundane causes, much in the same way that "shellshock" is now a fairly generic term even though it originated during WWI. That's the spirit in which I used the term, playing off the similar PSD in a clumsy attempt at wordplay.

I strongly encourage you to shut the fuck up
A US marine is telling you not to joke about PTSD. The only proper response is "yes sir, sorry sir, thank you sir for your sacrifices for our country"
I am a godless pot-smoking hippie atheist pacifist and yet the above is *obvious* to me. what's your excuse?

Im not saying PTSD is hilarious. I am however saying PTSD is a worthy topic to explore through and with humor. I am also saying those who are concerned with or dedicated to outlinining which topics are suitable and unsuitable for humor are wasting their time. Certainly not all jokes are created equal which means not every PTSD joke is or should be regarded as funny, but to suggest that no PTSD joke is humorous is a lie and to say PTSD is an off limits topic to explore with humor is totalitarian. We're not asking you to laugh about it. We are however asking that you give others who do find it funny the space to react in a way they see fit. If you find it inappropriate then make your feelings known to the group and move along, agree to disagree. Youre not wrong and youre not right. And in instances of humor, neither are the people you oppose.

The AD has really improved the web experience of paying online.
However, they charged my credit card twice this year for a total $2,400, thereby creating spousal issues for a moment or two.
