First quarter of OSU-NU will be interesting. NU has a pretty good defense, but they'll wear down eventually. I'm curious to see how OSU does on offense before that happens.
October 18th, 2019 at 8:35 PM ^
Blowout incoming
October 18th, 2019 at 8:37 PM ^
Think they put up more than 40 on NW?
October 18th, 2019 at 8:57 PM ^
Do you mean by halftime? NW won’t score.
October 18th, 2019 at 8:38 PM ^
It’ll be close until the the second quarter. Then it’ll be pain for NW.
October 18th, 2019 at 8:45 PM ^
Maybe some Osu players will get injuries that put them out for the season. Neg away, but you know you thought the same.
October 18th, 2019 at 8:52 PM ^
People with warped priorities are upvoting you.
October 18th, 2019 at 8:59 PM ^
Aw shucks, I'm sure you're a swell guy.
October 18th, 2019 at 8:48 PM ^
Northwestern has zero pass rush
October 18th, 2019 at 8:52 PM ^
It’s a shame how much better coached OSU is on the offensive side of the ball.
No reason why UM can’t get DPJ, Nico and Tarik wide open like OSU’s receivers constantly are.
October 18th, 2019 at 8:55 PM ^
I agree. I’m really stuck on if Ohio State is really good or they have just played complete shit teams. Who’s their best win? Cincinnati or Michigan State?
October 18th, 2019 at 8:58 PM ^
You really can't see with your eyes if osu is good or not? Come on man
October 18th, 2019 at 9:00 PM ^
The only thing that will stop them is themselves or a team with a dominate defensive line.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:04 PM ^
Probably should of worded that better. They’re good obviously, just wondering how good they are with the level of competition they’ve played.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:12 PM ^
Fair enough. I think they're elite. 5 stars all over the field with what looks like good development and chemistry..
October 18th, 2019 at 9:25 PM ^
F*cking sucks they have only gotten better even with Urban and Haskins leaving. I’m excited to watch them and Wisconsin next week.
October 18th, 2019 at 11:26 PM ^
Good point. OSU hasn’t played anyone - we might have even looked good with that schedule. Their toughest- and really only tough game, unless you want to lump PSU into that category - is next week (at home of course). It’ll be interesting to see how they do against Wisconsin.
October 18th, 2019 at 11:52 PM ^
Their strength of schedule is like 18. It’s better than ours, or anyone in the BIG.
October 18th, 2019 at 8:53 PM ^
Watched OSU march down the field on their first possession.
Turned channel.
October 18th, 2019 at 8:54 PM ^
Two blatant holds by OSU oline on two 3rd down conversions first drive. Right in front of the ref. Ridiculous
October 18th, 2019 at 9:31 PM ^
Check and see if the refs are from Columbus
October 18th, 2019 at 9:01 PM ^
OSU at NW is what we thought we were getting closer to, but that's receding in the rear view mirror now.
Hello 2018.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:05 PM ^
I can't imagine the Wildcats hanging in there that long.
Then again, even Purdue beat OSU last year, so...
October 18th, 2019 at 9:16 PM ^
How did OSU get roped into a Friday game? I can't recall many Big Ten conference games on Fridays, but maybe I'm just not in the loop anymore.
When I saw OSU vs Northwestern pop up on a scoreboard I thought it's gotta be women's volleyball or some other nonsense.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:41 PM ^
Ohio State (well, Gene Smith, to be more specific) has volunteered for them to play road Friday games. They've even offered to host on Friday night once every 3 years, if it aligns with their fall break. The next time that happens is 2022 (a game against Iowa).
Maybe OSU is just playing the role of "let's just go along with Jim Delany's corporate selling out of the conference to the TV folk." If nothing else, Gene Smith is a good politician. But OSU hasn't really objected much to this all.
October 18th, 2019 at 10:34 PM ^
I can't recall many Big Ten conference games on Fridays
It started in 2017. 6 B1G Friday games. 3 OOC, 3 in conference.
Michigan told the conference to pound sand.
So did Pedophile State -- but from the perspective of they didn't want a game to interfere with HS football.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:21 PM ^
I’d lay on the ground too after whiffing on that easy sack.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:29 PM ^
OSU gets to have too many nice things.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:29 PM ^
Sucks! Osu is legit. Fields is a stud for a college QB. Would be nice to have one of those. Oh it helps that Day knows what he’s doing on the O side of the ball.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:35 PM ^
Also helps that Northwestern isn't exactly a powerhouse this year like they were the past couple of years.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:37 PM ^
NW is Michigan's twin on offense...step forward, step back...good play undone by stupid penalty
October 18th, 2019 at 9:43 PM ^
We know how to tackle at least.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:49 PM ^
I'm sure we will forget on November 30 unfortunately.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:39 PM ^
is there any doubt who the B1G wants to win this game
EDIT "that will be a difficult call to overturn"
which would have given NW a first down
Overturned
October 19th, 2019 at 1:14 AM ^
Are you joking or do you really think the Big Ten actually risked the largest ncaa scandal in decades because they thought OSU would need help to beat a 1-4 Northwestern team?
I would have overturned it also.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:41 PM ^
NW is great at tackling
October 18th, 2019 at 9:42 PM ^
Yeah, this season is depressing...
October 18th, 2019 at 9:42 PM ^
What the hell? Why did that look so easy by OSU? Unreal
October 18th, 2019 at 9:47 PM ^
When was the last time we had a breakaway back like Dobbins?
October 18th, 2019 at 10:51 PM ^
Dobbins has great quickness and acceleration but he doesn't have the top speed to break away from defense. He runs closer to 4.55 than 4.4 which isn't too bad.
Jonathan Taylor, on the other hand, has the breakaway speed at 220 is ridiculous. He ran a faster 100m than Saquon Barkley in HS albeit a different states. Saquon ran 4.4 at the combine so Taylor probably runs in the 4.3
October 18th, 2019 at 11:34 PM ^
Good thing we recruited Taylor when we literally fenced the state of New Jersey off to anyone else between 2016-2017. Oh... the one guy we didn’t recruit.
classic Michigan.
October 18th, 2019 at 11:51 PM ^
Jonathan Taylor recruiting profile is interesting. He's a 3* recruit who was a 262nd ranked recruit which is a major mistake in hindsight. His offers are meh at best. Wisconsin and VT are his top offer. He once committed to Rutgers before flipping to Wisconsin. The rest are Army, Albany, and Boston College according to his profile. Pretty safe to say that everyone but Wisconsin plus a few teams who offered him missed out on him
October 18th, 2019 at 9:43 PM ^
I give Northwestern props for hanging in there for that first quarter.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:45 PM ^
Really nice play designs by Day. Having talent like Dobbins helps too.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:48 PM ^
wildcats are just toying with them- watch what they do now!
October 18th, 2019 at 9:51 PM ^
see, wildcats are moving the ball!
October 18th, 2019 at 9:49 PM ^
Fuck Ohio State. Even when they make mistakes, it all works out for them. It’s nice to have multiple elite athletes at every position.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:52 PM ^
Mattison is co defense coordinator at OSU but whatever they win, he will not get full credit of defensive success.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:57 PM ^
NW is good at catching too
October 18th, 2019 at 9:58 PM ^
...and long snapping...
