Four More UFRS Posbang
Just when you think the football season is over, you remember, we still have four more UFRs coming. Personally, I want to see where some of the younger players like Keon Sabb grade out.
And of course, those UFRs are a huge task so please thank your bloggers for doing it all year.
Support them here with cold hard cash, tee shirt purchases, signing up for affiliate purchases on Amazon or buying ad space. I personally bought ads for a client years ago and the team was amazing to work with!

UFR Jams: 2024 (Are You Ready For This?)
January 10th, 2024 at 11:04 AM ^
For once these UFRs won't be a heart breaking slog to just get some baseline data for the next season preview. They can finally be a work of joy and reveling the glory!

It's funny, I don't have a great desire to keep rewatching the Washington game. I usually almost immediately watch the replay to obsess over the details to see if I think we really have a chance to reach the next level. After this game, there's nothing left to obsess over. I'm finally content.

I could feel my heart beating in my chest during the game but when the game ended I just felt... calm.
Kind of weird.

That was my exact reaction after the game as well. Contentment. A fitting resolution to the last three years. Now knowing that this program is back to a place of stability with a foundation to grow on for years to come. Trusting the coaches know more than recruiting services. It all leads to a place of peaceful contentment.

I mentioned it before, but the stress levels for this year’s games had a very different trajectory than years past.
Obviously, UM didn’t face a real test until the PSU game. When Blake iced that game, there was a huge release of frustration and pent up anxiety for me. The Maryland game was tighter than I’m sure we all hoped, but winning that game only ratcheted up the intensity for the OSU game. I personally couldn’t bear to watch the last two drives of that game because I knew how much the outcome of that game would effect the narrative of the 2021-2023 seasons and the off season that was coming up. Winning that game released all of the pressure/frustration/anxiety for me. The B1G Championship game was really just another coronation with the only intrigue being how Petitti and the team would handle the trophy presentation. The Rose Bowl was exciting, and had some anxious moments, but I never felt like it was out of reach or deserving of the same level of stress as we’d seen in the regular season. I did get excited with my teenage son on the OT stop, but it wasn’t as high a high as the OSU game.
The biggest moment for our house was Sainristil’s INT that everyone knew sealed the game (as I’m sure it was for most others). But it was not a moment of dread/foreboding/anxiety/stress like the final drive on D in the Ohio St game.
it’s hard to reconcile, but it obviously speaks to how big that rivalry really is. I don’t think a CFP Championship would ever be worth a loss in The Game after how the last two seasons have gone (OSU almost winning the cfp despite losing to UM and experiencing this championship season for UM).

I'm sorry, but being down 7 to alabama with a few minutes left only qualified as "some anxious moments" to you? Sir, I would like to sign up for whatever it is that brings you such zen.

Beating Ohio St and winning the B1G championship are always the top goals for any season. The special teams gaffes did nothing to make me believe UM was going to win the Rose Bowl game, particularly after the missed fg and before the second muff. After so long a championship drought, I guess I just never believed it would happen again. Very glad to have been proven wrong.

This.
I feel the same - the OSU game was a sphincter clencher from start to finish. The flood of relief when it was over was almost as cathartic as the 2021 win. Bama was a fun, tight game that had it's own pressure. But the pressure was different from the OSU game pressure.
I calmed with immediate relief that they did it, won the whole thing, when Corum put us up 24-13 with ~7 minutes left. No way UW was scoring twice from that point.
"...the only intrigue being how Petitti and the team would handle the trophy presentation."
Watch the trophy presentation - it looks to me like Peteetee wanted to hold it with Zinter and say a few words, but Zak yoinked it away and ignored him. Maybe it's just my imagination, but I really want that to have happened!

I definitely screamed the loudest after the Rod Moore interception if I'm comparing it to the Alabama fourth down stop and the Sanristil interception.

Same. It was a flood of emotion, esp in the first quarter with the two long Edwards TDs but as the game finished, it was just a happy calm.
WE. DID. IT.

I've watched replays of the Sainristil interception about a hundred times.

Going to buy a shirt or something but want the ad money to go to Brian/Seth. Does anyone have a Homefield link or post with one in it?
January 10th, 2024 at 11:10 AM ^
I believe its still 5. Brian said the Iowa game UFR is almost done plus the 4 for the playoff.
January 10th, 2024 at 11:13 AM ^
DROP THE UFRS ON HOLIDAYS WHEN WE HAVE NO CONTENT.
Memorial Day, July 4, etc.
January 10th, 2024 at 11:28 AM ^
Why make us wait so long????
January 10th, 2024 at 1:02 PM ^
Came here to say "five". I want five. Selfish, I know -- but I (and so many of us) have had to read through UFRs that made us feel terrible. I want as many good ones from the last three years as I can get! And these are going to be fantastic.
January 10th, 2024 at 11:17 AM ^
I will read all of them. Anything to keep this feeling going.
January 10th, 2024 at 11:22 AM ^
And, presumably, a full game column from Brian - at least that has kept me refreshing today.

Are we getting a podcast for Washington?
January 10th, 2024 at 11:28 AM ^
There was a post yesterday saying that they'd be recording today and posting tomorrow.
January 10th, 2024 at 11:35 AM ^
Must've missed that. Well, I can stop refreshing far more than is healthy.
January 10th, 2024 at 2:59 PM ^
Yeah, me too!
(I'm lying, I f5 every 15 minutes).

The more UFRs the merrier, especially when we win, which now is pretty much always
January 10th, 2024 at 11:36 AM ^
I just beveled guilted, thus guaranteeing BCS UFR's.
January 10th, 2024 at 11:40 AM ^
I'm really looking forward to the Alabama UFR because there was all-22 available. I presume the championship game had an all-22 channel as well? Gonna be super high-quality.

Whenever I shop Amazon, I start by clicking the MGoStore link. I believe that the originator will get a % regardless of what you buy.
One episode of my favorite book club podcast had the hosts talking about how Amazon has given them credit for all kinds of clothes and electronics, even though their page only links to their book picks.
So I hope that I was supporting the MGoCrew when I just bought a portable CD player for my new (discless) car.

May be more work than it's worth, but it would be kinda cool to see the UFRs make their way into the (3)-Yearbook project Seth announced. Reading those are always a good way to re-live games (and also remind me of the unsung heroes who were awesome but that I may forget over time)
Note: Not every UFR, but maybe the Rose Bowl and Championship game??
