Damn it! Just getting ready to crash and now all the familiar, prideful emotions are coming back! Welp, guess I'll just have to re-watch the Championship Game again. Thanks for posting this. Go Blue!
December 6th, 2021 at 12:27 AM ^
The championship game is actually quite anti-climatic for me. Obviously glad we closed the deal, but the OSU game was magical and had me shed a tear. Been watching replays for over a week.
December 6th, 2021 at 12:40 AM ^
I get that for sure. Mostly to watch the end of the game and everyone celebrating
December 6th, 2021 at 7:25 AM ^
Sitting in the stands for OSU was magical. Beating Iowa was merely very satisfying. One appeals to the heart, the other to the brain.
December 6th, 2021 at 8:38 AM ^
I hear you. I remember the 1990 NCAA Championship game where with about 5 minutes to go and UNLV leading Duke by 30 there was a screenshot of Jerry Tarkanian just sitting in his chair, legs crossed with his hands folded behind his head as though he were coaching a summer league game somewhere. That's pretty much how I felt during the Iowa game. Victory was never in doubt. And even though we pummeled OSU, I simply couldn't sit down the entire time. I'm guessing the Georgia game will have me standing again
December 6th, 2021 at 8:49 AM ^
I shed one too. It was magical.
December 6th, 2021 at 1:26 PM ^
Yeah but imagine how awful it would have been had we not won on Saturday too. Though we would have finally beaten OSU, that negative stigma about how this team can't close the deal and win the games that matter blah, blah would have still hung around. And the chirping from osu/sparty would have been all-time peak. Of course it wasn't as fun to beat a team we don't really hate (although they apparently really hate us), it was so satisfying to FINALLY lift that trophy. I was on the field against osu in 2003 and to think it would take THAT long to win it (outright) again is kind of incredible. But so relieved it finally happened.

Nice seeing the former players recognizing this event.
December 6th, 2021 at 12:26 AM ^
So much for all the "players hate HARBAUGH!, derp, derp"
Winning cures all. Nice to see the family happy for their youngest brothers finally breaking through.
2016 team deserved the same shot but were robbed in the Shoe. Glad there is some level of redemption here.
December 6th, 2021 at 12:42 AM ^
But why doesn’t (insert player here) say they went to Michigan in their SNF introductions? Why doesn’t (insert other player here) have any Michigan football identifiers in their social media bios? Seems like they didn’t like Harbaugh!
/s for those unaware

No Milton or Giles?
December 6th, 2021 at 8:01 AM ^
Milton is still running out of bounds.
December 6th, 2021 at 9:20 AM ^
Can you imagine Milton trying to give the championship trophy to a teammate? he'd probably launch it into the stands
December 6th, 2021 at 9:54 AM ^
Or throw it right to an Iowa DB.
December 6th, 2021 at 10:26 AM ^
Maybe let ex-players go, even if they did say something you didn't like?
Sometimes this blog (actually, alot of times) reminds me of a woman who is mad at you, or dumping you, and you get The List of the 32,836 times you did something wrong or pissed her off.
LET IT GO
December 6th, 2021 at 10:31 AM ^
No Marcus Ray? He couldn’t stop talking when Don Brown was the DC.
December 6th, 2021 at 11:42 AM ^
Those should be featured for Festivus... as well as every fucker who's been here and left or was forced to who said this coaching staff and team could never do it... let the all eat crow!
December 6th, 2021 at 1:34 PM ^
When I realized that Milton was starting for Tennessee, I actually apologized to my UT-loving father-in-law.
December 6th, 2021 at 1:53 AM ^
This is awesome!
December 6th, 2021 at 1:54 AM ^
Love seeing the support from the former players. Means a lot to the program. I hope they know that it's a big deal and very appreciated.
December 6th, 2021 at 12:42 PM ^
Trust me, those guys who competed and bled for Michigan football for 4+ years are WAY more invested in this program and in this championship than any of us on a message board.
December 6th, 2021 at 2:40 AM ^
Thank you Ezekiel's Creatures for putting this together. It was perfect.
December 6th, 2021 at 6:08 AM ^
I love that Khalid was there for the field rush in Ann Arbor too. One of my favorite all time players. Dude was a weapon
December 6th, 2021 at 7:49 AM ^
On the opposite end of that, you have Sparty Tears™️. I was in the hospital Saturday (long story but I’m ok) and ran out of things to read, so I took a cautious stroll over to RCMB. I was not disappointed. Some of the gems:
MSU is still the better team.
Michigan has refs in their pocket.
Michigan has the media in their pocket.
Hutchinson is a spoiled brat, just an ok player, and is basically Kenny Willekes.
Iowa would beat Michigan if they had Kenneth Walker at RB.
It’s not that Michigan beats teams; opponents just lay down against them.
December 6th, 2021 at 7:59 AM ^
Michigan fans may be overly pessimistic, but, wow, Sparty fans are outright delusional.
December 6th, 2021 at 10:12 AM ^
They desperately want people to know that they exist
December 6th, 2021 at 10:28 AM ^
I think we do
December 6th, 2021 at 10:21 AM ^
I will give MSU its due credit. Michigan couldn't do squat to stop Kenneth Walker III. They just couldn't. It wasn't for lack of effort, but he was just the best player on the field that day and simply wouldn't be denied. He's a great player.
But to say that MSU is the better team is absolutely ludicrous. I think the results on the field have spoken for themselves on that. Honestly, MSU can keep the Paul Bunyan trophy this year. You can have it, little brother. Michigan has a far more important trophy sitting in its case in Ann Arbor right now. Michigan won what will always be the far bigger and far more important rivalry game. Michigan won the conference and is going to the CFP. I can only speak for myself, especially as someone who came from out of state to go to UM, but Michigan's last two games make the loss to MSU completely irrelevant.
Would I rather have beaten MSU? Should Michigan continue to take that game seriously? Of course, but I'd happily watch MSU win every year if it netted the results Michigan has attained this year. Why? Because MSU, in my mind, has always been and always will be the smaller fish. They are never going to be the top priority. They will never be what defines, makes, or breaks Michigan's season.
December 6th, 2021 at 11:34 AM ^
100%. MSU has a very good team this year, but not a better team than Michigan's. Sometimes you lose games against teams you're better than, and vice versa. Michigan was better than every team we faced this year, and while we were unlucky to lose to Michigan State, we were lucky to pull out close games against Nebraska and Penn State. I'll take it.
Honestly, I think what sticks in the craw for State fans is that we don't care. Like you said, we'll always take that game seriously, but I think almost all of us would be thrilled to have this season over and over again. And that wouldn't be the same with Ohio State--I mean, I'd still be happy with a hypothetical season that resulted in a Big Ten championship and playoff spot despite a loss to OSU, but I would care about the loss. A lot. Not only is it clear that we fans don't really care, but Michigan built its coaching staff for Ohio State, and saved formations and plays all season to run against Ohio State. The entire football program clearly would trade a loss against Michigan State for a win against Ohio State if we had to.
December 6th, 2021 at 11:41 AM ^
Yep. Wolverines are Big 10 champs, headed to the playoffs. Sparty's win turned out to be meaningless in the overall picture.
December 6th, 2021 at 10:30 AM ^
One of their fans wish Gus Johnson would get cancer because he enthusiastically hugged Cade after The Game.
December 6th, 2021 at 11:27 AM ^
Well, hopefully he doesn’t try to light Gus on fire like an EL couch
December 6th, 2021 at 11:33 AM ^
Klatt calling out MSU’s win a ref aided fluke during the B1G championship game was glorious.
Both RCMB and 11 warriors have imploded with this Michigan B1G championship.
Sparty full of delusion, tears and disrespek!
OSU full of anger, defensive hubris, and an underlying dread that their dominant run may have peaked and Day is indeed not Urban Meyer.
December 6th, 2021 at 8:26 AM ^
Random small story from Saturday.....Was waiting in line for a beer when Taylor Lewan walked in front of me. Said hi and exchanged some pleasantries before he headed off down to his seats. He would definitely not have been there if the Titans were on a bye!
December 6th, 2021 at 8:33 AM ^
Great stuff. Moar of this always welcome. Thanks for sharing.
December 6th, 2021 at 9:35 AM ^
All of these guys helped build the foundation for this season. Go Blue! LETS WIN OUT!
December 6th, 2021 at 1:41 PM ^
I love seeing former player social reactions after monster wins ....i search endlessly for them all the time.
Thanks for this!!
