Forcier article featuring new attitude Tate

Submitted by jaggs on

In this recent article about Tate it looks like he's working with former NFL and CFLer with a somewhat similar skill set in Jeff Garcia. Fighting to be a 3rd string QB for Hamilton Tiger Cats. Hope he has put it together, but I remain skeptical.

Always hope the best for Tate, he will always have the ND win to keep me rooting for him. Good luck in the great white north...its a beauty way to go...eh.

two things....

As always, I wish the best for Tate. I will always remember the Notre Dame drama and Illinois shootout.

Next, what is an NFL pivot?

We will always have that one ND game.  Just like we will always have that "real" hug he gave Rich Rod right before the kickoff to the 2010 season.

As always kids - avoid getting involved with the Marinovichs.

Wish him the best, but man did he waste some many opportunities.  I know people love Denard and will rec the past to say they always thought he was the better QB, but I'll fess up to thinking Tate was the next Drew Brees/Shaun King type.  Sad to see him struggle, but good to hear he might have his head on straight.

Apparently, he still is allergic to class.  He could be playing college ball and getting a degree if he had really wanted to.  I would like to know where all of those in his "tight family" have been when they should have been helping him amalgamate his feces and get back into school.

Forcier's story has been so erratic to this point.  It will be interesting to see if he gets his head striaght.  Hopefully, he can and will finally get his ship righted.

I don't know much about Garcia, but I think he has a strong work ethic - something Forcier can definitely benefit from.

Hate to be a downer on my first post here ever, but...

I never really was a fan of him when he was with us. Seeing him transfer after RR got canned was unfortunate but also, in hindsight, much better for our program, seeing as he was one of RR's most controversial players that he brought along.

Him leaving, IMO, helped Michigan move on from the 3 darkest years of Michigan history.

Glad he is not Michigan's problem any more.

As an outsider, I've never understood why Michigan fans hated Tate so much.  Dude had talent, and he played half a season with a torn rotator cuff(or labrum?).

I don't think Michigan fans hated Tate at all.  Michigan fans liked him a bunch his Freshman year.  The team was really bad though, so there was negativity around that, even though it wasn't  really Tate's fault.

But his 2nd season a bunch of rumors started coming out about him having attitude problems/possible pot use/academic issues, etc .etc.  He was clearly in the doghouse as he wasn't even the backup QB anymore and Michigan burned the redshirt of Gardner just to keep Tate off of the field for disciplinary reasons.  Then he got flunked out of school.

So as he fell apart there might have been some negative stuff said about him, but I never sensed that Michigan fans hated  him.
