Well, did you at least stay at a holiday inn express last night? Just kidding. I guess the idea there would be that a person can somewhat easily refrain from bearing weight on the injured bone completely. So you can have a weaker and relatively less invasive fixation device and just let the bone heal on its own. Probably without seeing X-rays of the break it would be difficult for anyone to give a great answer.

As a tailback, I had a double compound fracture of my tibia and fibula in September of my senior year. After 3 surgeries, I was running by February and sprinting by March. Top speed was the same, but my quickness was lacking. After track season, I played football at a DIII college but didn't even finish my freshman year. The injury was a catastrophic blow to my skills, mental confidence, and growth as a player. I wish Fitz the best of luck. The rehab alone is extremely difficult and demanding. He will be a better man after going through all of this.

Very happy for Fitz. I hope he gets back to 2011 form. If he does that I bet he gets drafted in the first 3 rounds.

Awesome, i wouldn't mind one of Deveon and Derrick to redshirt

I think one is guaranteed to redshirt anyway (most likely Smith). We're going to have Toussaint, Green, Rawls, Hayes, and Johnson at tailback next year. There's really no need to play a sixth tailback. And in the history of Rivals, no #1 running back has redshirted.

Is the order you listed the tailbacks your starting order for the fall (Toussaint over Green)? Senior off a bad year vs a true freshman is tough to call with this level of incoming talent. Still, Toussaint did have a 1000 yard rushing season for Michigan. Or maybe a 15-10 split with carries per game?
I suppose the few lines you type in reply may contain more useful information than most of Hoke's press conferences between now and September!

It's actually kind of in random order, except the first two. I don't think Green will be any lower than #2 to begin the year.

Thanks! I appreciate it.

Excellent news. That was a pretty gruesome injury to bounce back from.

Coach Jackson's actual quote: "I was shocked at how fast Fitz's leg is healing... it's gelling together and repairing itself like the Terminator, only faster. And with less ooze."

I just posted about the T2 Judgement Day guy before seeing your post down-thread.
Imaginary +1 for your teleppathic ability, sir.

here was your chance for "he recovers like the comic book Wolverine only faster" line...

Now if this was Alabama poor ole Fitz would have been brought out to the woods... You know what happens next eh?

They go snipe hunting?

Great news, would love to see Fitz have another stellar year with a "hopefully" improved O-line

Great to hear that he is doing well and not just because of football. Traumatic injuries and the resultant sugery like what he went though can have increadible impacts on a person's life. Hope he recovers and gets back to 100% and never has any complications down the road.

This is great news!
Here is to having Fitz come back better than ever. Sometimes you have to be brokern, literally, to come back stronger than ever.
