FG kicking heading into Big Ten

Submitted by Ultimate Quizmaster on
I'm glad we didn't have a hypertensive game today, but I was hoping to see some FG attempts heading into next week since we still haven't shown that we can nail 30+ yardage consistently.

700+ yards of offense and you whine about not kicking field goals? Come on quizmaster, you're better than this.

Perspective is good.

After the last two years people tend to look at what is missing as opposed to what this team is capable of...which is gashing opposing defenses like a hell bent Ginsu knife.

Do you think last year's outcomes are the same with Tate having a capable backup and his not playing with a torn labrum?

ND might suck but if so then how much better is Michigan State (who need a heart stopping and ballsy call to win in overtime).

This defense will give up points but let's be clear...this offense regardless of who is driving will put up points and lots of them. If we have to win 49 -42 over tOSU well, I'll take it.

149  - 142. Guys will be so exhausted we'll start subbing in Basketball players.

That said... the defense had plenty of bright spots today in addition to the problems. Overall MUCH better than last week, with only one really BIG play given up, which was because of a horribly missed tackle for a loss. It seems like the defense is always just a fraction of a second and a quarter inch from a big time stop, so I think they'll put it together by season's end.

I was hoping on the 4th and 3 that DG ran in for the fink TD that we would've attempted the easy FG to give one of the kickers a little confidence. We are going to need a kicker who can hit if the ball is within the 20, at least, at some point.
