Even my three year old son gets how awesome Denard is

A funny story I thought I would share. I have a three year old son, who I have been indoctrinating as a Michigan fan since he was born. He is still too young to sit through the games, so my wife and I replay them off of our DVR on Sunday mornings for him. He watches, he cheers (sometimes for nothing relevant) and his favorite parts are when the players touch the banner on their way onto the field and when the Victors plays. That said, I never really know if he has any clue what is really going on. Well, this Sunday, I was watching one of the NFL games that was on and was pissed because one of my fantasy team's players missed an easy catch for a TD. My son asked about why I yelled at the TV and I explained to him that the team that I was rooting for didn't get a touchdown. His reply: That's because they don't have Denard Robinson. If they did, they would win the game. He is really fast and has hair coming out of the back of his helmet. To me, this was 100% pure columbian awesome.

Dude I love this story. There is nothing cooler then watching your young son start to pick up on the awesomeness that is Michigan. This really made me proud to be a Michigan man / no sugarcoat.

if you look up "Denard Robinson" in the encyclopedia, the entry will read:

American Football Player. Really fast with hair coming out the back of his helmet. If he played on your team, you would win.

I have a 2 year old brother and we all went to the ND-Michigan game.  Dad went to ND, but I went to Michigan.  So for the past 2 years i've been teaching him Go Blue.  My dad had him wearing an ND outfit, so this one big burly Irish fan goes up to my little brother and says... "Goooooo...."  and my brother goes "BLUE!"  And the guy looked at my dad as if he'd raised him wrong.  It was a very fine moment.

That story is a good one. I also took part in a similar story. When I was in the Army, I had a buddy who was a Texas fan, he had a child with an Ohio State fan. Not going to talk about the "baby momma drama" but there was a lot and the two didn't get along. When he had the girl, we spent hours saying GO BLUE to her over and over again. When she was about 18-20 months, somewhere in there she uttered those words, much to the dissapointment of her mother. Great moment.

That's great!!!

Some of you know that I recently adopted 2 children.  The boy, who is now 19 months, had been in foster care since birth. His foster parents are OSU fans.  By fans, I mean, they couldn't tell me 2 players not named Pryor that play for the buckeyes. Anyway, this past Saturday was the first time he got to go back and visit them since the move.  This is what I sent him in.

GO BLUE!

They told me they were going to buy him an Ohio State shirt. I told them I would throw it away. Then they laughed...and I didn't...I think they got the point.

By the way,  have you found an agency or anything yet?  Are you in Monroe county?

We've got a couple other agency appointments lined up these next couple of weeks. Money is SUPER tight right now, but we made the decision that if we're not financially comfortable with it in a year and a half (28), we're going to just go ahead and do it anyway and find a way.

That was an issue with us, as well. We figured, by the time we think we're financially ready, we'll be retired!  Hope everything works out.  My wife and I are both from Monroe County.  I'm from Erie and she's from Temperance.  She actually is a social worker for a hospice company in Lambertville.  If you guys ever need anything or have any questions, feel free to ask.

My 3 year-old daughter learned "The Victors" this season.  She sings the song perfectly, except that in place of "valiant" she says "violent."  I could probably correct that, but I'm cool with it for now.
