ESPN speculates Tony Jefferson's pick?

Submitted by CincinnatiWolverine on
I was not aware of this until I stumbled across it in a detroit news article, but the News is suggesting that ESPN speculates that Jefferson will pick Michigan next month. After doing a brief search at ESPN, I could not find anything. Does anybody know anything about this? I hope it is accurate, but again, I could not find any other source. Here's a link to ESPN's on the trail feature that was last updated on TJ two days ago. http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/tracker/school?schoolId=130&p… Doesn't seem to be anything concrete there. They make it sound like it's a two horse race between us an UCLA unless he decides he wants to be an RB and then look out for USC. Don't forget, he's already made a soft commit to UCLA so unless they completely blow his official next month I'd honestly be surprised if he ends up in Ann Arbor.

since the first line "the No. 1 football recruiting prospect in the country according to ESPN.com" is an error. He's the #1 Athlete and the #10 overall prospect according to ESPN.com

Take anything ESPN has to say with a grain of salt. When they start doing things like this they only get the fans excited and then we give their websites a lot of hits because we cant't find information on it anywhere. Remember ESPN's parent company is Disney. I when I see Corso and Herbstreet on Gameday it may as well be Hannah Montana and i Carly (I have a tween at home). When Rivals or Scout or GBMW has something I'll start to get excited.

Anyone assuming Jefferson's coming here is just setting themselves up for a nic big dong-punch on signing day. I'm far more interested in Furman coming here anyhow.

I saw that article earlier this week and wondered the same thing. I think he'd be a bigger asset than Furman just because he's an all around athlete. We could fit him any where needed. But he still has some big visits coming up so I don't think he'll pick Michigan.

Ok I have a question. I keep hearing about sanctions by the NCAA that prevent more than 25 people signing to a class. Is that a Big Ten thing or an NCAA thing, because if it's NCAA than Oklahoma couldn't take anymore anyway..?
