That would be totally fine by me.

CBS predicts Gator Bowl against Auburn
December 1st, 2019 at 5:20 PM ^
That sounds too good to be true.
December 1st, 2019 at 6:25 PM ^
That would he terrible. I'm pretty sure auburn would destroy us
December 1st, 2019 at 7:31 PM ^
Eh, only if Michigan self-destructed. Auburn is not good, yesterday's upset notwithstanding.
December 1st, 2019 at 7:39 PM ^
I disagree. Their worst loss is an 11 point loss to Florida.
They were way more comptetitve than we were.
December 1st, 2019 at 7:39 PM ^
Lol...exactly how are you arriving at this conclusion?
December 3rd, 2019 at 1:33 PM ^
By looking at stats and watching Auburn play.
December 1st, 2019 at 9:59 PM ^
I live in Jacksonville. I just don't see any way that the Gator Bowl gets a matchup of two 9-3 teams.....especially not Auburn and Michigan. My guess is Holiday Bowl.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:11 PM ^
Which means a bunch of players skip it since it's a nothing bowl
December 1st, 2019 at 5:19 PM ^
Bowls are meaningless. Basically, just an exhibition game for the up and coming players to get extended practice and game time.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:30 PM ^
I am just beyond tired of this narrative. It became convenient when Florida waxed us last season. Sure seemed like they cared about a 'meaningless' bowl. Michigan just didn't care last year, many teams do. It's a choice to care or not. I'm not saying they should or shouldn't care, that's on them but to say it's because of meaningless bowls is just not true.
December 1st, 2019 at 7:29 PM ^
I agree if your a competitor then you have a desire to compete...to show you are better or to discover your not in the process.
December 1st, 2019 at 9:55 PM ^
Bowl games are meaningless exhibitions to make money for the schools and sponsors. Players get nothing but a shit bag of swag. Want to make it meaningful ? Pay the players 20% of the bowl revenue. That will get it important.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:35 PM ^
This loser mentality and the no-shows in bowls contributes to the negative national narrative about this program.
December 1st, 2019 at 6:02 PM ^
Yup, way too much of that going around here these days. Win the bowl game, build momentum for next year and recruit your damn ass off.
The bowl game is the first step towards taking down Ohio next year. Much like destroying Florida in 2015 led to Harbaugh's best year so far.
December 1st, 2019 at 6:27 PM ^
And, go for a win, just because it's right to go for a win.
December 1st, 2019 at 7:40 PM ^
Michigan football is soft. From top to bottom. 9 - 3 seasons at Michigan is playing .500 ball. Floor at Michigan should be 10 - 2. That's the floor. Philosophy has to start at the very top and filter down to everyone in the program. Look at all the red in the BIG HOUSE Saturday. People making decisions at the top see this and know most fans are satisfied with 8 - 10 wins a season.
December 1st, 2019 at 8:38 PM ^
There is a negative national narrative about non-CFP bowl games. UGA didn't care about the Sugar Bowl last year. Texas cared. Texas is 7-5 and UGA is once again a win away from the CFP. The importance of bowl games for teams with CFP aspirations is lessening every year. Obvious caveat is the Rose Bowl.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:37 PM ^
That's the attitude of a douche, Mongo.
There are lots of people who love bowl games, and bowl games matter a lot to the coaches and players who play in them.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:48 PM ^
The whole “bowls are meaningless” thing is a received opinion. Just because it’s in style on here to say that since that’s what’s echoed on the front page.
December 1st, 2019 at 10:03 PM ^
Bowls are meaningless. Ask the players. They get some crapy bag of swag while the school and sponsors rake in $millions. Bowl games stink and no one gives a shit about bowl games.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:48 PM ^
December 1st, 2019 at 5:54 PM ^
Sorry that you're getting hate because you're absolutely correct. Non-playoff bowls (save for the Rose Bowl, because it's in a league of its own) are just exhibitions. The reason to participate is the extra practices you get. Otherwise, they do not matter.
December 1st, 2019 at 7:30 PM ^
To you, they don’t matter. That is just an opinion. A bad one, but you are certainly entitled to it. (And why would the Rose Bowl be exempt from that - Wisconsin v Oregon?)
December 1st, 2019 at 6:56 PM ^
So, you want Gattis fired again?
December 1st, 2019 at 5:11 PM ^
Bring on USC
December 1st, 2019 at 5:12 PM ^
Careful what you ask for there.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:20 PM ^
If Urban goes there, could mean the team and staff might get up for the game
December 1st, 2019 at 5:30 PM ^
If they play Michigan, he'll show up early to coach, just to F with me.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:24 PM ^
USC has the #5 passing game in the Nation.
I want that game to happen, so it would give Jim Harbaugh a chance to meet Graham Harrell, USC's excellent OC/QB coach. I could see him being a co-OC & QBs coach. Suit me fine baby.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:41 PM ^
Gattis is doing just fine.
December 1st, 2019 at 6:04 PM ^
Yup, offense is humming. It's the other side of the ball that needs to have a serious discussion
December 1st, 2019 at 6:16 PM ^
Why did you say that? I didn't say Gattis should be removed. But you thought that.
USC has 3 WRs in the top 100 WRs. Michigan has none.
December 2nd, 2019 at 9:59 AM ^
What are DPJ, Bell, Collins & Black this year? Chopped liver?
December 1st, 2019 at 5:12 PM ^
Probably not a good matchup vs that USC pass offense.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:34 PM ^
I know. They actually have a real passing game there. And they throw the ball to the best receivers, a lot. We'll get a chance to see what that looks like.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:41 PM ^
SC is 8-4.
December 1st, 2019 at 6:23 PM ^
I don't see your point. Are we talking about head coaches? You must have thought we were talking about head coaches.
USC has the #5 passing game in the Nation.
Michigan has the #50 passing game in the Nation:
Good verses great.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:14 PM ^
Big 10 brass actually makes the final decision but UM will have input. Choices are coming down to:
- Holiday Bowl ... UM vs. USC
- Gator Bowl ... UM vs. Auburn (if LSU beats Georgia)
I would like to see the Holiday Bowl. Hate playing the SEC who cheats out the wazoo.
Iowa gets the bowl we turn down.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:31 PM ^
Anything but an SEC opponent in Florida. I'm tired of those match-ups.
December 1st, 2019 at 6:03 PM ^
Normally I'd agree with you, but Auburn would be a great matchup, and the first Michigan game I can remember watching was the 1984 Sugar Bowl vs. them.
Would love to see that game!
December 1st, 2019 at 8:20 PM ^
Watched that game from between the uprights at the Superdome--what a way to watch triple option football feat. Bo Jackson (tho he wasn't the featured back). I recall being most impressed by the Auburn coeds . . . or was it Evan Cooper's tackling on the edge?
December 1st, 2019 at 6:02 PM ^
Auburn would fucking DESTROY us. No thank you.
December 1st, 2019 at 6:37 PM ^
How do you know? They lost to the great teams they played, except Alabama. And some strange things happened in that game. That illegal substitution on Alabama at the end of the game did seem unfair. And it looked like the Auburn coach did things to make it happen. He ran the punter out, but then had him line up at WR. So Alabama had to quick change the punt return team to the defense team. One player of the punt return team didn't get off the field quick enough when the penalty was called, and the ball wasn't even getting snapped. The auburn coach set it up to happen. It seemed underhanded.
Auburn is probably not as good as you are thinking.
December 1st, 2019 at 6:48 PM ^
It was at home as well. Not sure Auburn is very good on the road
December 1st, 2019 at 9:20 PM ^
If a team is successful, it’s because they cheat. If a team gets their ass kicked by OSU, it’s because of higher academic standards even though the team who got their ass beat by OSU recruits the same players.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:17 PM ^
What a giant shit sandwich! We were supposed to win the BIG and compete for the CFP. We finished 3rd in the East, got prison sexed by OSU again, and are going to the Holiday Bowl. Three years ago, Ryan Day was a homeless dude. Now, he is treating Jim like a cheap hooker and headed to the playoff. This sucks so bad.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:21 PM ^
Ryan Day was Niners QB coach three years ago.
December 1st, 2019 at 5:27 PM ^
Might as well have been homeless. That Chip Kelly Niners squad was bad. Idk what Urban saw in him but the guy sure knows talent when he sees it.
