[Eleven Warriors on potential OSU football player legal issues]
http://www.elevenwarriors.com/forum/recruiting/2013/07/this-doesnt-sound-good
Take it for what it's worth .. and it may be nothing. But, lead writer for the website Men of the Scarlet and Gray, an Ohio fan site stated on twitter that he has information from a very reliable source that a current Ohio player is in serious legal trouble. he stated he will not give any information until the arrest record is published online.
This has caused an uproar among Ohio fans on twitter, many saying he is just starting a rumor .. which makes no sense since he is a diehard Ohio fan, and he hasn't posted anything about it on his site, so he's not trying to get clicks from it. He seems to stand behind this source.
The original post was 11 hours ago, but he remains solid on his stance as of a few minutes ago.
Let the speculations begin.
I am hearing from a source that a member of the Ohio State Football team may be involved in some serious legal issues. Trying to confirm.
@meechmcghee @Smoe4Bucks I believe my source is 100% reliable but again I cant and wont say any details without a secondary confirmation.
-
@DaveEggen40 I have no other confirmation yet and the police reports havent hit the internet yet. Hopefully they never do.
-
@CoachKG1984 @tjessberger Id rather be dead wrong and have no credibility then be right in this case. I hope Tjessberger is right about me.
Mod edit: This at least sounds less life altering than some of the sexual assault cases, and with speculation already around I don't pretend to be able to stop it and keep the thread intact, but we really don't need random Twitter rumors as titles and in OP's at the very least. If/when something is confirmed (or reported for that matter), feel free to update again. JGB.
I have no idea what happened and have absolutely no information that hasn't been posted here. However, I am interested in seeing how Meyer responds, if in fact the claims are true.
When alcohol is involved something bad always happens. Punch a girl in the face, sucker punch a guy, act like a complete ass when a girl doesn't want to bang you even though you're the starting QB (thanks Griese). I'd say the NCAA shouldn't allow athletes to drink but that would be unfair to those who don't act in such a manner. It's time to brainstorm.
I'd make the case that many MgoBloggers should drink either, especially when typing a response here.
What's up with the lack of proper grammar in the responses against my view? You're not helping your cause.
"saying when alcohol is involved something always bad happens is a stupid statement."Why are you making yourself look stupid? "I've drunk a lot over the years." That is pretty clear from your post. Give your brain a rest every now and then. You'll thank me later.
sorry BEEN didnt get posted.
You know I think certain people can get into trouble when they drink, but that's also why people under 21 can't drink according to the law. That's also where education and accountability comes into it on behalf of the coaches and the universities as obviously drinking occurs on all college campuses. Although I don't always understand why some drugs are illegal like marijuana and others like alcohol are not, I am also not a big fan of taking away the rights of people to put in their bodies what they wish. The key is education, responsibility, and accountability. If this is true I hope that he receives appropriate punishment, but that he also received appropriate education and support to learn, grow, and hopefully develop some better habits/decisions in the future.
I never understood why others feel the right to tell people what they can and cannot put in their bodies either. If I want to do heroine or meth then I should be able to. Is it bad for me? Depends on what I get out of it. To think that one human being believes they have the right to tell another one what they can and cannot do with their body when it does no harm to another is outrageous. This World is about experiences and to withhold ones that just affect that individual are loathsome.
"No tendency is quite so strong in human nature as the desire to lay down rules of conduct for other people."
Kouzes' & Posner's The Leadership Challenge cites that it's a common flaw of poor leaders to hold others to an unrealistically high standard of ethics and behavior while holding themselves to a lower standard by rationalizing their own actions.
When you're strung out and decide to suck dick in back alleys spreading STDs to support your habit or break into my house or rob a business that does impact other people. Weed is relatively harmless so I'm okay with that but no one can make a logical argument for why meth or heroin should be legal other than "MY BODY I'LL DO WHAT I WANT". If you honestly don't see the externalities of hard drug use I'm thankful you're not in a position to be making policy decisions with such a warped world view.
if not before the last couple comments.
And raise you Denzel

Can we get #DecisionWall trending on twitter?
3:15 on a Sunday and still nothing from any credible source. Like I said before, this story is falling apart.
If it just happened last night / this morning, that's not surprising. Usually it seems like word will leak out right after an incident like this, and then you don't hear much about it again till court dates come up
Um, no. If OSU's starting RB was arrested it would have hit the local papers within the hour. Maybe if it was some no-name it might slip by. Hyde is the second biggest name on their roster behind Miller.
There's not enough smoke here from credible sources to make me believe this story yet. Could Hyde have been involved in something last night? Possibly. But I guarantee you there is no way he was arrested and it has been kept quiet this long.
I think we need to be more understanding.
I mean everyone in the world punches women in the face, steals from you, steals from me.
Carlos Hyde hurt us in the game last year. Im not saying I want him in jail (until he's proven guilty) but I am comfortable saying I wouldn't mind if he's not present during The Game 2013.
I personally think Jordan Hall is better, but I won't complain if Hyde doesn't play. Although I'm sure others will say they'd prefer we beat them at full strength which is obvioius but whatevs.
Of course that'd be nice but I find it hard to believe many people would complain if an impact player, Braxton Miller for instance, weren't available that day
Oh wait, this isn't Glenn Winston?
Looks like Scout is about to confirm.
with earlier posters. Even if he is guilty, unless this kid in physically in jail in November, he will be playing against Michigan.
If there were no truth to this, it would have been debunked in 5 minutes.

The OSU folks should of told him Dotting the "Eye" doesnt mean punching women.
Just found this looking for hyde info... http://www.landgrantholyland.com/2013/7/17/4533348/osu-scandal-final-ch…
Some guy on twitter with a '100%' source says that apparently Hyde punched someone pretty important, but he hasn't officially been arrested yet, so no news on the major networks/sites. Who knows.
it was a cops daughter
