Donovan Edwards status for this week?

Submitted by LakeWylieBlue on November 8th, 2021 at 2:52 PM

I have searched the net and can't find any tangible information regarding Edwards injury status for this week. Anyone know or heard anything?

Thanks in advance

I assume Harbaugh and company won't divulge anything specific on Corum until Thursday or so of this week. He did say today in the presser that Michigan has quality RB's on the depth chart. I am hoping that doesn't mean Corum is out this week. Edwards being back definitely softens the blow if Corum is indeed out this Saturday

They put him down like a race horse when he got injured, so you can understand why the coaches don't want to talk about. Emotional topic. Very sad.

Harbaugh is famously tight-lipped about injuries.  We probably won't know about Edwards/Corum/Anthony until the pre-game warmups.

My gut tells me Corum is out, Edwards is questionable, and I have no idea on Anthony.

Agreed re: Harbaugh though I feel like he tends to say so if a player is definitely going to play or be back from injury. If he’s not sure or sure they are out he tends to say nothing. This morning’s comments lean toward the latter but with so many guys banged up, it’s hard to say for sure. I think of the group Anthony is probably most critical for PSU. Haskins can run well against them but we need the pass game working full strength. Roman Wilson being back helps but would love to see Anthony healthy.

Corum in a boot on the sidelines screams sprained ankle.  Low sprained ankle = 2 weeks minimum.  High ankle sprain?  4 weeks minimum.  Corum will not play vs PSU.

I do believe Edwards and Anthony will play.

I also believe All plays.  Will need the extra target on the field.

Was this known prior to the game? I'll be honest, I didn't even notice All didn't play (was at the game, so I missed out on any TV commentary regarding injuries). I realized Edwards must be hurt (or suspended) when he didn't come in after Corum got hurt. Did notice Anthony not playing later in the game, but never noticed him getting hurt. Still not sure who the defender (DB?) was that got hurt well behind the play on the fumble recovery. Couldn't see the number, and the announcer never said who was receiving attention.

I can’t imagine All missing a game because he missed too much practice time during Indiana week. Starters don’t miss games because of missing practice. More likely, he’s not 100% - which we can safely assume since he got banged up during the State game - and they’d rather have him as close to 100% for Penn State. So they dressed him if he was needed but only planned on using him in an emergency - like being in a nail biter or having other TEs get injured vs Indiana.

He was visibly banged up during his last play at Michigan State. Then it was reported last week that he wasn’t fully practicing as a result. Which means he’s not 100%. You can probably run pregame routes and look normal at 70, 80, 90%. That doesn’t mean you’re fully healthy. The fact that he didn’t play speaks to this. A guy coming off a career game and stretch doesn’t just not play unless he’s banged up and in this case, Michigan rightfully assumed they could beat Indiana without him and therefore allowed him to continue to heal up for the more important game the following week. I don’t know - to me it’s rather simple.

I am disappointed in our responses to a serious and pertinent question.  I am shocked and amazed to find such juvenile behavior on this board.  Shocked, I tell you.  And amazed too.

Harbaugh said there are a couple of players he expects to have back this week. I'm assuming it's All (since he dressed and warmed up last week) and Corum (since it's been referenced multiple times that it didn't seem serious). Edwards didn't travel to MSU either, which makes me think he might be out for a month if he missed 2 games already.

Hmmmm.

A guy who has only been a member for 1 week is asking for insider information.

I see right through your disguise Mr. Penn State. I’ll be keeping an eye on you from here on out.

Hopefully he's back - we need to give Hassan a few breathers.

One can only hope JH felt he wanted Edwards to get another week of rest given the opposition but then had to deal w/the surprise of Corum going out so early.

All must have been closer to playing but Schoonmaker had two TDs so no need to rush him in.

I remember Edwards fumbling on a long run at the NW game but didn't recall him looking hurt afterward?

FWIW, Corum's friend posted a short video of him earlier on her IG story. He was still in walking boot limping. That paired with all the classic and cryptic "God has a plan" pictures, I don't think he plays this week. No idea on Edwards.
