Don Brown new HC at UMass
"UMass is finalizing a deal to make Arizona defensive coordinator Don Brown the football program's next head coach, according to a report Sunday by Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel. An announcement is expected early this week."
Brown only stayed with Arizona for 1 year as their DC. My first thought was of MA 3* LB Tyler Martin. He was committed to UM and decommitted because he was a Brown guy and decided he would follow him to Arizona. Seems too good to play for UMass. Wonder if he'll stick with his pledge to Arizona who he has no other ties to.

My bad. I was just on 247 when the article was only 5 minutes old there. Didn't look beyond our main page here. Mods please detonate.

I wonder if we will ever land on the moon?

Not in Keith Jackson's lifetime!

We should all be thinking of Tyler Martin

Maybe he follows Don to UMass and becomes a star?

Brown will do well. In a world of two and low three star talent Don Brown is king.

Great news for him! Good luck!

Congrats and best of luck to Don Brown. Fun defenses whose only flaw was having to play Ohio State every year.

Umass plays at Eastern Michigan October 1 next year. They also have a date at Texas A&M and looks like they need one more game.
2023 They play at Auburn and Penn State
2024 at Georgia

Wishing Don Brown nothing but the best. Guy is a mensch. Tyler Martin might just want to proceed to U Mass, where he can obtain a fine education in a beautiful setting.

Congrats to Don Brown, but the college coaching carousel continues—apparently Washington is going to move on from Jimmy Lake.

If you're doing this, can I make my same bad Ty Willingham joke? :)

What do you mean? How are things going for him at ND?

About as well as they are going for Charlie Strong at Texas.

Glorious? Oh and by the way, in this very obvious situation after a touchdown on the opening drive in the first quarter, emphatically, they are going for one.

Don Brown - "we're gonna blitz on defense, we're gonna blitz on offense, we're gonna blitz everywhere! and no double teams, everyone man on man!"

We are going to solve AND cause our problems with aggression! And we won’t make any adjustments—we will eventually get a stop or the game will eventually end.

Glad to hear Don Brown will head back East. Best wishes to him and good luck.

Good luck to Coach Brown at UMASS. Happy for him, western MA during the season is beautiful and he gets to spend summers on the Cape.

Won't somebody please PLEASE think of Tyler Martin!!

Hopefully, he can have success where he was successful before. I don't see this as another Edsell (guy going back to his prior job and then imploding).
DB is good when he doesn't have to face Olave types.

God's Speed, Don Brown.
