Dobbs and Barnett transfer to... Memphis
Didn't see them transferring to this program. Good food, though.

Sounds about right. They can be winners there?

New Belleville pipeline to Memphis?!
I noticed that the HC for Memphis coached for Toledo and the Lions in 2014 and 2015, so maybe there's some connection there?
December 21st, 2020 at 9:40 PM ^
MSU to Memphis. Hmm.
Some thing smells overrated here, is it Belleville or the Detroit News Blue Chip list?
December 21st, 2020 at 11:37 PM ^
It makes no sense. From an outside point of view it seems like Barnett and Michigan would have both been better off together.
December 22nd, 2020 at 4:19 AM ^
Some of you guys don't understand the way the staff at Bellville has poisoned the well in regards to Michigan. The rift is real guys. Those guys didn't even visit Michigan before they picked MSU. Think Aubrey Solomon, but with more meaning behind the Muck Fichigan statement.

I've been told Memphis is similar to Detroit in a few ways.
December 22nd, 2020 at 8:48 AM ^
Memphis is Detroit plus Beale Street.
December 22nd, 2020 at 11:37 AM ^
Sounds like a pretty dope city.
December 21st, 2020 at 9:51 PM ^
So now Crowell presumably hates both UM AND MSU? Apparently his former kids and Tucker didn't see eye to eye.
December 22nd, 2020 at 4:20 AM ^
Did you hear something or are you just making assumptions?
December 22nd, 2020 at 8:48 AM ^
At some point, the kids might want to look at Crowell as the problem rather than Harbaugh and Tucker...
December 21st, 2020 at 9:52 PM ^
The former MSU OC coaches at Memphis now.
December 21st, 2020 at 11:29 PM ^
Wow, Crowell really does have full control over these kids and he continues to be a MSU old guard slappy
December 22nd, 2020 at 9:58 AM ^
I do not believe this is true. Who?
December 22nd, 2020 at 1:55 PM ^
That dude was my weight training teacher while he was making his bones as a teacher when I was in high school. He was a pretty cool guy.

Crowell is a garbage coach.
December 22nd, 2020 at 8:03 AM ^
He helped make JD, Delano, & Lavert into productive players for us...id say he has a pretty decent track record. It’s up to the staff to mend the fences and get some pull back into one of the most talented schools in the state.
December 22nd, 2020 at 9:31 AM ^
I assume you meant to add /s since none of those players went to Belleville
December 22nd, 2020 at 9:54 AM ^
He was an assistant at Cass Tech for 9 years before he went to Belleville.

Someone on rcmb ( I know) put bellview (sp) pipeline is the new flint waterline! Show that to the bellview coach he's petty ...that will be enough for him to stop sending recruits there!

P5 talents don’t transfer to G5 schools. I say that confidently about Dobbs. I am bit surprised by Barnett, though.

A fairly unique circumstance due to off-the-field issues. Marshall (then a 1-AA school), was his best option.

The draw of Penny Hardaway was too great. Doesn't even matter that it's the wrong sport.

Crowell says the reason was that COVID + coaching transition kept the new staff from getting to know his Belleville kids. This smells like baby poop, as the new staff had the same chance to get to know them as everyone else on the team and didn’t like what they saw. There’s a reason Belleville kids (in general) underperform, and the common thread is Crowell. Occam’s Razor for the win.
December 22nd, 2020 at 8:24 AM ^
1 - Crowell sounds like a bitch.
2 - If Michigan wants Belleville players, they need to start sucking up more.
3 - Belleville kids do appear overrated.
4 - Is it even really worth it to recruit Michigan kids? I know the University of Michigan should represent Michigan, but the state isn’t really that talented in football, and couldn’t the recruiting time be better spent in football factory states? I know it’s easier said than done, but still.
December 22nd, 2020 at 9:55 AM ^
I tend to agree here. There are some in-state prospects coming out of high school that are must gets in my opinion. Like DPJ. I think we squandered his talent, but he still did some great things at UM. However, the southern football factories just produce all around better talent. A Texas 3 star would be a mid 4 star in Michigan. (Okay not every Texas 3 star...but you get the idea.)

We should be trying to lockdown the state so we can pick and choose who we want. We can't be letting guys like Spindler, Dellinger, Payne, Lance Dixon, etc., etc. leave the state, but besides that I agree. Locking down every single top 10 player in the state is not necessary when we can go out and get better players out of state
