Dillon Baxter v. Demetrius Hart
If Michigan does get Baxter, would that make Hart change his mind on coming to Michigan next year? Ever since I saw highlights on Hart, I've been very excited to see him commit. But if I had to choose between the two, I would definately go with Baxter mainly because we would get him now instead of 2011 like Hart. Thoughts?

Frankly, you take the sure thing. That is all it comes down to. I like both of these guys...whomever wants to come, bring them down.

get baxter now....bad ass athlete, great in our system....baxter in hand is better than hart in bush.....gardner and baxter in backfield = NC

because if you think about it, with a year of redshirt he would be a freshman when baxter is a junior (that is is baxter does not redshirt which i dont think he will). then he would only have two years of playing behind baxter, one of which he would not have to compete with v. smith and baxter both

PT should not be an issue

now is not the time for redshirts....the great shall rise to the top, early...and lead us to B10 champ, early, next year NC....

Hart is versatile enough to move to Slot Ninja and then theres the fact that Hart is probably a competitor and won't be scared off by Baxter. And then theres the fact that Michigans offense uses 2-4 RB at a time

If Dillon Baxter becomes available and wants to come to Michigan - you take him. Period. He is a 5-star talent, good size for a back, and has breakaway speed. Baxter is in the immediate class and then you worry about Hart later as he is a 2011 prospect. Michigan needs to finish this class strong with the slots remaining and then they can shift focus to next year.

If we can't take both, I'll go with Baxter.
I want the sure thing now. If Hart commits now he's still got a year to get snake oiled, and who knows what is gonna happen next year in our season RE: RichRod's job.
Baxter now for sure. Plus, he's supposed to be really fucking good.

You take as many good players as you can possibly get. Just look at USC's tailback situation. Broderick Green (transfer), Emmanuel Moody (transfer), Stafon Johnson (freak neck injury), and Joe McKnight (rollin' on dubs) were all highly rated backs who did not completely pan out. When you recruit all of those guys AND 5-star Allen Bradford, you can still win your bowl game.
EDIT: I forgot to mention Marc Tyler, CJ Gable, and I'm sure a couple of young guys, but I think you get the point.

You can't turn down the talent of Baxter.

Is too much of a good thing bad?

Do you think we'd stop recruiting Hart if Baxter were to come?

Can you ever have enough RB depth (look at us this year, for instance)?

...but I'd REALLY like to see the guys already on the team now start to blossom and play great ball and bring UM back to prominence. Just saying...

How likely is it that Baxter comes here, anyways? I've seen a lot of spec, but sine he's been committed a long time, he hasn't said much about other schools.
Oh, and the answer is clearly "yes".

It depends on two things. First, who USC picks to coach the team and the rapport that the coach and baxtor create (iow, is Baxter committed to USC or Carroll?) Two, how hard UM goes after Baxter to convince him his destiny is at U of M.

That said, take Baxster now. This kid could be a game changer in this kind of offense. Obviously RB is his main position but you could line him up anywhere he's a plaaaaya.

I'd love my MGoHandle to come back to full prominence and relativity, but I'd have to pick Baxter over Hart. Both really great players, and I'd obviously prefer both to come here, like most, but Baxter is the guy.
