Demetrius Knox to Ohio

Submitted by Bo Knows on

Texas decommit who is the top guard in the country according to rivals.  This is no where near the kind of news getting Campbell is, but great pickup for them.  Maybe they won't have to have the towel boy play OL after all.

Dude, we're all checking the board tonight in hopes of hearing of another commit for us at the BBQ. No need to bring us down with a thread on a commit to ohio from a fringe top-100 recruit that I had never even heard of.

Nice pick up, but it's not going to save OSU's line from being a disaster next year.  They need a JUCO badly.

they desperately need OLine help.  But I don't think their Oline commits even compare to ours the last 2 years, especially guard.

Every time a rival's OL is supposed to be a tirefire it usually ends up being serviceable and possibly better than ours. See: MSU and OSU the last few years. Their higher than average recruiting doesn't make me any less worried.

They get the #1 guard for 2014. Which means ours will be ready sooner.

I'm really not worried. The 11W site can bluster all they want about their OL haul - we've basically been getting that for the past 3 years.

Our skill positions are filling out incredibly well now. I remember when we became concerned because Laquon didn't commit. Now we have two elite receivers and tall, solid receivers, along with dynamite TE's and a power back. I'm worried we might be a little thin at tailback but I think someone will break out to help Green develop. When the dust settles, Borges and Mattinson will be cackling with glee, like a kid that set NCAA 14 to easy. It'll be an awesome sight.

Whatever, we'll get our guys, they'll get their guys and the world will continue to turn. They're also looking good for a good JC tackle out of PA, so I think OL will be fine for them. It's a shame though as I was hoping UCLA would get him.

Well said. I am one of those fans who thinks that UM, ND and OSU (pretty much the only relevant teams in this region) can all make each other better by recruiting better. Eluemunor, the JC from PA that I think you are referring to, chose Arkansas this past weekend. Chad Mavety, a JC from NY, is predicted to join OSU by 247.

I know Knox is originally from Ohio, but they have had 4 top guys in the last 2 recruiting classes from Texas, Dontre Wilson (86), Mike Mitchell (84), JT Barrett (82), and Demedtius Knox (82).  Is there a particular recruiter for OSU that is having success or is it just chance the past few years?
