Death Storm 2016 - Open Thread
I hear things are getting very dicey already in some parts of the state. What are you going to do to celebrate death storm? Drink? Possibly drink? Reports from all over the State would be helpful in order for everybody to decide when to start, well, drinking. I think those attendance estimates for the game tonight are going down by the minute.

that's it. A trip to Saugatuck is 100% in order this summer. I need to get on that.

depends on where you are. North of M59 in Michigan, the forecast is for 7-9 today, 2-3 overnight, and another inch tomorrow. Is it actually death storm? No. Is is just a little snow? No. There are many schools that are closing early because the plows can't keep up with the snow fall rate and busses will not fare well. We are lucky it is relatively warm because if it was in the teens or 20s it would be quite a bit worse.

12+ north of M59, 7-10 everywhere else in SE MI. Looks like it's mostly going to be snow and not as much rain as originally forecasted.

30" of snow sucks. Schools out here were closed for a week. I only missed 1.5 workdays.

Cool story moment: my boys face a potential UM 2017 target in districts

Why not? Perhaps not until 5:01.
I just swept about 3 to 4 inches of snow off the car parked outside. It looks as if AA may get another 3 to 4 of the same.

Looks like the snow-rain boundary is moving up into southern Michigan, as predicted, in this excellent national radar loop:

State employee here, Lansing. They cut us loose a little over an hour ago.

Being north of M-59 they forecast is for 12 inches or more. Man I was hoping not to have to shovel snow again this year!

because these roads are no joke. I saw an UM bus rearend a Cherokee as I was leaving work. If not for the students then for the thousands who have to travel to campus and UMHS from miles away.
