Corn Nation Takes Vow of Sobriety

Hawt take from Nebraska bathroom guy in game. Remarkably composed. Takes bis if sobriety at about the 6:50 mark in video claiming that this year‘s Nebraska team is not worth falling off the wagon for.

Nebraska sold their football soul to go to the Big Ten, and football is what really matters to them.

They would have been much better off staying in the Big 12, especially now.  They could play (and recruit) more locally.

It will only get worse with USC / UCLA / Oregon / Washington coming in.

Yes they are getting all that Big Ten money, but who is actually getting it?  Who is better off and happier now with it?  It's not the (great) fans and students and alumni.

They would be less miserable being a bigger fish in a smaller pond.

Exactly. It's not that Nebraska CAN'T be good again, but they're partly to blame themselves for the Big Ten move. Playing regional matters for certain programs, especially say Nebraska, Arkansas, South Carolina, and West Virginia. Arkansas and West Virginia were much better off in the SWC and Big East respectfully, and South Carolina would compete very well in the ACC away from Georgia. Arkansas would do well in the Big XII and I think OU and Texas are making a mistake heading for the SEC just like Arkansas did 30 years ago.

Seems like a nice dude, I agree. Haha.

Enjoy this folks. Drink it in. Remember the rough years when watching this team play in each Saturday in the fall.  I try and tell myself that from time to time. Because this guy said what I think we all know about this team….not many weaknesses and if they play at their full potential ….oof, looks the part of an all timer

This guy's pretty cool, actually.   He's posted a lot of clever/funny material over the last few years and he's also done some historical videos about college football which were nicely done.

This guy makes me sad.  Maybe it's because he seems like he's probably a good guy that just has no hope and nowhere to go.  It's not like there's another nearby team he can change focus to and root for.  Probably should give up on football and get into something else.

To my critics, the reason that I post Corn Nation’s reactions is #1 because they are often whimsically amusing and/or funny, #2 because they are heartfelt and sincere and I have compassion for their fanbase and #3 because it is a good humility check and reminder to be grateful for what we have. The Husker faithful are some of the nicest and classiest fans anywhere. I feel for them and remember quite a few lean years when we too were a punchline. It’s easy to be a fan when your team wins but it’s a lot more impressive to stay true when you have to endure wrenching and humiliating defeats, which this guy does. We have much to be thankful for.

This strikes me as a terrible idea and I, for one (and possibly the only one) am grateful MGoBlog does not have such a chaotic and confusing system like 95% of other message boards.

Someone decides to post on a three year old post and suddenly it moves to the top.

No way to easily find threads or track what's newest as they bounce up and down the list.

If the evening games thread is that important, then it should be blog created and made sticky for the day, imo.
