Epic fail dude. I expected better. Not sure why. I'm still wondering if you found one of those mythical "offensive lines". It's almost as rare as a "secondary", I hear.

actually i'm not tosu reaper, but welcome. and hey, at least our o-line doesn't false start every 25 seconds.

Or getting bitch-tossed by Vernon Gholston. Both lines have their issues, as do both programs, but Ohio State isn't even approaching Michigan's level yet. If you think I'm arrogant for believing that, I'll deal with it. If New Mexico State comes in and beats us next year, we'll be on the path. Until then, there is a gulf. I actually believe RR will close that gulf, but not this soon.

I'll never understand why people think losing in 3 BCS games in a row out of playing in 4 in a row (2 of them championship games, while the 4th BCS game was a blowout of ND) while spanking your rival 5 straight is somehow, some-fucking-how worse than what Michigan has gone through. Ohio State has absolutely OWNED us for the past 5 years. Can we not talk shit about them losing a BCS game when we're 3-9? Thanks. Ohh, and yeah, I only replied to this post because I wanted to say you're right Pogue.

I was sitting down here at a bar down in Arlington, TX minding my business last Saturday night, trying to watch some football(not many people there as the Cowboys don't play playoff football). I am wearing my UM gear proudly, which usually gets a decent response down here. This disgruntled 50ish guy comes up to me and starts blasting me about how we suck. Peruse the guy, about 5'7 and a blithering idiot with a goatee. He's asking me who I'm rooting for in the Fiesta Bowl. I tell him I'm going for Texas, based on my previous experiece with the OSU fanbase, I know that is the wrong answer. He goes berzerk, challenges me to an honor du-el behind the bar and proceeds to get thrown out of the place. I couldn't be happier with the gut wrenching result tonight!!!

I don't know, but I feel like if we ALL talk about how the rivalry is above anything else, and we ALL love to root against the Buckeyes, it's.. not actually that much more to feel good when they lose and, heaven forbid, feel good together by talking about it. An OSU loss in an OSU loss, regardless of whether we've beaten them. This is the spirit of the rivalry, isn't it? Or should we pretend we're above feeling good when they lose? If you're against trash talking in general, then whatever; otherwise, leave him alone.

Just know that even if we were to win the next 5 games, they will not stop trashing/wishing for bad things to happen to us. For they are the Bucknuts!!

What are we going to rub in? That they beat us by 40? That they've beaten us 5 straight? You people love to make fun of Sparty for rejoicing when we lose. Well, you are being Sparty.

are not only shortsighted, but as chitown says, sparty-like. When we win the B10 (hopefully soon) I want it to be a strong league worth winning. And If we're second in the league, I want us to go to a BCS game because people know the B10 plays tough football. When the B10 gets embarrassed or has the reputation of not winning against elite teams, it hurts all the teams in the conference. Don't be children.

Who wants to pool some money together and we can put up some billboards that read "24-21 Fiesta Bowl Losers!" all around the Columbus area? Maybe at the bottom of the billboard we can point out how unlike tosu, UM did NOT lose a bowl game. Right?

What Would Sparty Do? - see this post. There is NO reason to rag on OSU for this game - they lost a tough game to a really good team. UM is currently sitting on its thumbs with a 3-9 record. I love UM and I love ragging on other teams, but this is not the time to do so.

There's never a bad time, or the wrong time, to rip on the Fockeyes. We're not Sparty for hating a team that's owned us since 2004. Sparty hasn't won a decent bowl game in recent memory, Sparty doesn't get top 10 recruiting classes, Sparty doesn't have the tradition... Anyone that's worried about being compared to Sparty already has an inferiority complex and seriously isn't worthy of Wolverine status. I found myself rooting for OSU last night because they were representing the Big 10, and the Midwest, in a big time bowl game. The larger concern, as posited by Colin Cowherd on ESPN five days a week, is that college football strength is migrating to the Southern schools. This partly explains the erosion at Michigan, Notre Dame, Washington, Nebraska and other traditional powers. I don't see this changing any time soon. And please don't bother with comparisons to the NFL - pro players get drafted to New England and Buffalo even if they don't like the cold weather. Back to last night's game, OSU had a golden opportunity to dominate in the first half but Sweater Vest kept opting for field goals, despite the fact that Pryor and Wells could pick up five yards a carry with their eyes closed. It's also apparent that, minus a Vince Young talent, Mac (look at how big my mansion is) Brown isn't a national championship-caliber coach. I do give him kudos for the hurry-up offense, though - when are we going to see that at Michigan?

Mac Brown has won as many NCs as Bob Stoops, Jim Tressel, Lloyd Carr, Nick Saban, Les Miles, and Urban Meyer, just off the top of my head. So what qualifies as a MNC-caliber coach? Pete Carroll hasn't won an NC since Leinart-Bush, so by your logic he clearly stinks. Apparently only Joe Paterno and Bobby Bowden, who have each won multiple MNCs with relatively different teams, count as championship-caliber coaches. As for the "we won't become the Sparty's" argument, I don't disagree that UM is a far better program, but whining and acting like 10-year-olds on the playground doesn't rely too heavily on tradition. OSU lost - HAHAHA! LOL! Boy they sux! But UM went 3-9 this year and haven't won a significant bowl game since the Brady era. So all I'm saying is that UM needs to get its house in order before we start ragging on other teams - a trait that I have seen quite a bit with Sparties. That's not an inferiority complex - that's just being realistic. Finally, I partially agree that the MEDIA is making it sound like high school players prefer the south, but then how do you explain UM getting "top 10 classes", OSU pulling in top-ranked recruits, PSU's resurgence, ND's continued stockpiling of talent for Weiss to waste, etc. Kids will go where they think they can win and where they think they can play, and while geography means something, I don't think that many kids dwell on it.

Jacking it to a close, if heart-breaking loss for a rival, who owns your ass, your house, and your womenfolk, in a game it probably didn't deserve to be in based on its regular season, no less, is the epitome of Sparty.

There's only one word for all these posts mocking OSU's loss: embarrassing. Sure, Michigan didn't lose a bowl game this year. BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T FUCKING WIN ENOUGH GAMES TO BE IN ONE, INCLUDING GETTING HAMMERED BY OSU 42-7 IF YOU SOMEHOW FORGOT. William Fucking Shatner this is annoying. Please stop people.
