We don't need Pittsburgh because they don't have their own stadium and their market is already covered by Penn State. The rest of the Midwest is solidly Big 10 territory, so I say push East to Rutgers and lock up the largest media market in the United States. The other option could be a westward expansion to Nebraska since Missouri and Iowa State don't have the name recognition of the black shirts.
The arguments about travel and culture shock are moronic. Tucson is a billion miles, culturally and geographically, from Seattle but that hasn't hurt the Pac-10 one bit.

...They're crawling all over this blog. I wrote a diary post that was critical of RR's table manners over the summer and was "negged into oblivion". At some point, Brian Cook washed his hands of me and saw fit to disable my ability to add new posts because of my negative point total. If you're seeking a free and open exchange of ideas (something I was encouraged to do as an LS&A student), go elsewhere. If you're looking for hockey news, monotone podcasts and sycophantic updates that spin the latest 2-star signing in a positive light, then you've come to the right place!

A relative of mine, another HS coach who's been around some of the spring practices for years, Told me the same thing.
I posted about it earlier in the summer and was crucified. I got so many negative points that Brian Cook blackballed me from writing any new posts (though I can still comment).

Turnovers could result from any of the following: Youth, inexperience, good defense, poor conditions, poor preparation (this doesn't imply poor coaching, maybe the player just isn't very coachable), fluke plays, etc.

One of the most vexing aspects of 2008 and 2009 was that we were almost guaranteed to lose the turnover battle heading into any game, especially when weather played a factor. I'm not enough of nerd to back up my assertion with stats, however.

By the way, if we're having the same debate about turnovers at this point in 2010, would the coaches be accountable then?

What I wanna know, and what hasn't been reported, is whether or not the group of "former and current players" approached the FREEP, or whether the FREEP went on a witch hunt?

Maybe it's just Michigan's bad luck that Ann Arbor is the closest big-time football program to Detroit (Lions included).

I suspect that, like Grade Gate, the journalists were just fishing for a sensational headline to capitalize on the seasonal football fervor.
