MSU should just defer on every play on offense. "No, we don't want it...you take it."
College Football Open Thread Night 2
MSU is probably going to win a ton of games. I mean, who doesn't win games when the defense scores more than the offense.
State has literally just blitzed every play because the oline for Western is atrocious.
Kansas State, the BEST team in the Big 12 just lost to an FCS school, which really shouldn't happen ever unless there's some real serious talent deficiency there. The Big 10 is the worst conference, though, amirite?
They were the best when they had Collin Klein. Now they're just Kansas State again
I've been watching both games and I'd make NDSU at least a 2-TD favorite over Western. Fourth year starter at QB, all five top receivers back from a national championship team, didn't break down on defense against a pretty good FBS opponent, and this is the fourth year in a row they've won their annual FBS game (and they're not playing MAC or Sun Belt teams either).
That's a good team right there. If we had promotion/relegation they'd be in the B1G by now.
team with Heisman Trophy contender Collin Klein on it, who is now gone. KSU overachieved last year, their talent level really isn't that great. They are definatly not the best team in the Big 12 this year.
Regardless of the level NDSU plays at, they are solid and well coached team. They have now knocked off a FBS team four different times.
First pass was an interception; he then went 14 for 14 for 131 yards the rest of the way. Didn't throw an incompletion in the half.
only be a good unit, not a elite one. Dominating this horrible WMU offense and their backup QB doesn't mean anything. One thing is for sure MSU's offense is god awful, and their defense won't be able to score for their offense against better teams.
I would shocked if they didn't finish with 4-5 losses this year, regardless of what their defense does.
THE DEFENSE IS PLAYING THEIR TAIL OFF, AND THE OFFENSE IS SCREWING IT UP
A bit off topic from this thread, but it's news I think we all like to see.
RB Damien Harris' coach just called me to tell me Damien had a potential SportsCenter worthy run tonight. Coach said maybe 300 yards again

300 yards....again? Jesus.
Remember this, with Tate Forcier leading the way, we beat Western 31-7.
Who played better than either of State's QBs...
Is suspended for this game.
Spartan fans can't be pleased that it has taken a herculean effort by their defense to beat WMU.
Their offense is absolutely atrocious.
Ugh. Leave it to sparty to make the weekend I've been waiting for all year SO. FRICKING. BORING.
Going to bed. See you all for the real stuff tomorrow.
they're going to really really struggle to score on us. They can't pass and they won't be able to run well. Way too early prediction says Michigan, 23-6
If they play like this, they won't score on us. And our defense will not drop maxwells "blind passes of hope."
"They come from all over to learn how to grow some grass..."
Of course not, even the dirt sucks in EL.
"One of the better defenses in the country". I think this is my new favorite broadcasting team.
One of the better defenses in the country has given up 2 touchdowns to the worst WMU offensive unit I've seen in quite awhile.
Wow. There is no one at Spartan Stadium. It looks like it's at about 30% capacity.
there's always at least 300
Anybody else think it's odd that SMU's new football branding slogan is "UNBRIDLED"?
Given the history, that just seems wrong.
Epic comment. I bet peeps on this website below the age of 30 dont even know SMU has a football program.
I'm pretty sure they do. I mean, they played on ESPN tonight...
Holy pants! MSU looked bad. I am still worried about playing them on the road. At this point they should put in the true frosh QB Terry and roll the dice. It would be hard to be much worse.
State's offensive line still sucks, and might be worst than last year.
State is gonig to miss Bell. Badly.
State's quarterbacks still suck.
State's WRs still drop the ball.
State's DL isn't getting near the penetration they did last year. Only time to got heat on Western was through all out blitzes.
State's secondary got burned by Western's WRs more than a few times, but Western's QBs are about as bad as State's.
If not for State's defense, they lose 13-9
I think the offense for State had one TD right before half time. They didn't move the ball well but were aided by two big penalties on WMU.
I haven't talked about it since...and won't again, but...
Hey, K-State. I know how you feel.
On reddit, whenever another team loses to an FCS squad, I just type The Horror......The Horror.....
I can't make fun of anyone.
Fun fact: If you subtract the points that MSU's defense scored, they would have lost 13-12.
