Christian Turner to the Portal

No surprise. Buried on the depth chart. Good luck to him.

And I would say “don’t be delusional”.

Again, I wish him all the best. Truly. I hope he finds an awesome landing spot and gets some quality PT and enjoys the heck out of himself.  Truly.

I’m simply saying that to call him “talented” just isn’t true. If by what you mean as “talented” is that he is good enough to be a college football player...then you are correct.  If by what you mean by “talented” is that he is clearly an above average power 5 RB...then that is simply not true.

You might not like the evaluation, because it hurts your feelings, but the fact is Christian Turner is currently the 4th string RB on arguably the worst team in the B10. That is the reality of today.

Lots of players are talented but to become effective at whatever level they’re playing at requires improving at the things you struggle with.  Good coaching helps take a “talented” player to the next level.  To say that he doesn’t have talent simply because he couldn’t crack the rotation is asinine.  I’m not sure anyone should really trust YOUR evaluation but since it’s the internet everyone can spout their opinion.  Thus, I’ll agree with your final sentence...the reality of today

It’s not my opinion that he is the 4th string RB in what is arguably the worst team in the B10. It is asinine to believe that isn’t a statement on his talent, and what the coaches believe his talent is.

Would anyone believe that a Junior who is a 4th string RB at Georgia Tech, Boston College or Oregon State was talented / you would hope to get such a player in the transfer portal?

He contributed for 2 years and then was going to opt out because of Covid. He opted back in and Harbaugh buried him on the depth chart. Harbaugh values toughness and milk and steak over common sense. (Why are we one of the only teams that refuses to fair catch a kickoff? It’s his anachronistic attachment to “toughness.”) Dylan McCaffery knows what I am talking about.

You are simply wrong to say he is not talented. He may not be as talented as you’d like, but that’s just arguing semantics. Take the “L” and quit being such a douchebag.

He seems like a pretty talented dude, but I also seem to remember he had a case of fumbleitis in the first few games of 2019, and I don’t think he played too much after that. Good luck to him!

I am interested to see what Chris Evans will do. Should have an extra year by the letter of the law. He's one of Harbaughs guys but there doesn't seem to be a consistent role for him. He's a capable player but there definitely isn't enough recent tape to get drafted. Does he stay local and play at EMU and then take a shot at training camp in 2022 or does he try to ascend the Ann Arbor area HS coaching ranks?

That one inch out of bounds against Florida and fumbling issues is how he got lost on the depth chart.  He also originally opted out of the season, but came back.

Understandable, good luck to him.  He's already been passed by Corum as a true freshman and there's an even higher ranked true freshman coming in next year.  Makes sense.

I think he is going to put up numbers in a crappier conference. He is explosive. But fumbles and injuries always seem to cost him his shot.

He fumbled his way into the doghouse last Fall, and never really got a chance to get out of it.  Whether he kept fumbling in practice, or just couldn't ever get a chance to show he fixed the problem, we'll never know.  But we do know that once someone gets into Harbaugh's doghouse, he never gets out - unless Harbaugh likes the guy.  In which case, he never really gets into the doghouse, anyway...
