Figured he was going there...now the bigger question is do we hang on to the #1 class? Gonzaga has the number 1,6,53 and 72nd player in the 2021 class(247 composite).

I didn't watch the announcement, was there any talk of shocking the world?

If so, those people need to be told because this commitment has been inevitable for months.

Seems to play with fire/chip on his shoulder, which makes it even worse, bc it would have been interesting to see him play his game night in/out against better competition. He's going to have video game numbers in the WCC yet rarely be seen except for non-con and in the tourney

Recruiting pitch of a few good non conf games then 30 games to coast before locking in 1 seed for tourney seems to be working for them. Wish they would get asked to join actual conference

Was watching him play, while gifted I just don’t see it. Saw Chris Webber in HS and he was developed like a man. I guess it’s a different game now? I think he will be a good NBA player but he needs 4-5 in the gym.

Yeah, as the last poster said, freshman Chris Webber would have put up 30 and 15 on this kid.  Actually he probably wouldn't have, because this kid would have been fouled out 10 minutes into the game.

Obviously the recruiting services love him, but the kid is 7' 0" and not even 200 lbs.  I dunno that you can put on the kind of muscle that he is going to need to properly bang with other post players.  Maybe in the the world of 5-out he can be quite effective on offense, but can he play defense if another team brings anyone big down low?

He obviously can dribble and shoot, but his body type reminds me of  "Shawn Bradley" skinny, which Bradley was never really able to put on big amounts of muscle.   I guess Bradley still had a solid NBA career as a sometimes starter.  But he was also 7' 6".

It would have been interesting to have him join the good guys. However, if Michigan should encounter Gonzaga next year I would pick Michigan in a Holmgren vs Diabate matchup.

I’ve lived in Spokane for 20+ years. Perfect place for folks who love the outdoors with easy access to mountains and lakes. Cool downtown including a gorgeous and unique city park with waterfalls.   Cultural, medical, and economic center for a huge geographic area because we’re definitely in the middle of nowhere.

Downsides include a lack of racial diversity, low average household income and a growing struggle with a homeless population (like most cities on the west coast.)

Gonzaga has a very pretty campus right on the Spokane River, but yeah, it’s shocking how Few is recruiting so well in a place this off the grid.

I don't have a problem that he is so skinny. The I will not be denied junk yard dog fight that is in him more than makes up for. He can grab a rebound and go coast to coast endingwith a monster dunk, or a change of hands lay up at the end! The way he plays shows he is very smart. He is smart enough to see he needs to gain weight and put on muscle. And smart enough to not neglect gaining weight and putting on muscle.

I never saw a 7 footer handle the ball like he does-- unless Kevin Durant really is 7 feet, as some sports casters say.
