Chengelis Article on 2013 Preferred Walk-on WR Jack Wangler
Nice article about the next Wangler to hit campus. What does everyone expect from him while he is here?
Interesting portion of the article: He's used to people recognizing his last name and saying, "Oh, you're John's son," and got used to answering to that frequent reference.

From the dad, "Harvard didn't stack up academically to Michigan, so he made the right call there."

I expect him to be a solid team guy who maybe sees the field to block once in a while or be tossed a bone in blowout victories. He's a walk-on for a reason. I don't think he can be a viable player at Michigan.

but do you think he sees the field if there were highly rated prospets ahead of him? I mean, part of the reason he played was that our recruited guys left, were terrible, or coached by GERG.
I have to believe he saw what was in front of him and thought "hey, if I work my ass of, I can actually start over these other guys!"
Now, WR is probably a good spot for a walk-on to work his ass of and play significantly in 3-4 years, but Michigan has recruted some ballers and there is still a class to go for Wrangler's competition in 3-4 years.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know Kovacs was a walk-on.
This changes everything.

It doesn't really matter to me whether he's a walk-on or he was the first kid to be offered a full ride in the class. He's still not an impressive athlete.

I expect him to be an All B1G player while here. Seriously. Just so we can rub it in Magnus' face.

I hope you're right.

I know you do, that's why I like you. You may not always say the most flattering things about these kids, but I know that you want to see each and everyone of them become successful.

son. By the time he leaves, I hope he has changed John's name to "you know, Jack's dad".

Where's the article about Jamie Morris' son, Shane?

I see him growing into a role like Drew Dileo. Sure hands, not great speed, but dependable. Im OK with that.

Dileo isn't the fastest guy around, but I'm guessing he would dust Wangler in a race and in agility drills.

I think Wangler is a lot closer to being Nick Sheridan than being his dad. I think he'll be a solid practice guy who comes to realize how great it is getting a sideline pass for every game. Then again, you never know: he could find a niche as a third down guy.

enjoy his time in AA and be a great team player.
He doesn't have the physical skills to see playing time on a top 10 team, but he at least gets a shot to play every day in practice with the big boys.
