Chaundeeeeee Appreciation thread
Came on here to chime in and couldn’t believe there wasn’t a thread created yet for Chaundee! Best game as a Wolverine, hands down. He was “Livers” tonight and then some. Howard stuck him on Smart in the second half and he locked down on defense. Sure Smart got points, but he cut off passing lanes and LSU looked lost with 15 left on the shot clock when a shot wasn’t put up yet. Not to mention, he went 6-6 from the line (60something% in the year). Oh and not to mention, most points in a Michigan uni. Chaundee was a BEAST tonight!

His ability to slash was so key. Even Livers couldn't do that.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:18 PM ^
I’ve been waiting on him to do that all year. He’s shown flashes but then he ventures back out to the three point line. When he’s on, he’s on. I wish he would keep up both the rest of this tournament. I think he will be able to drive on FSU, they are big but slower.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:25 PM ^
Juwan saw something from LSU defense and probably told Chaundee to slash against that defense. Chaundee is normally not good at it but he was tonight
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:29 PM ^
I feel like he is, he just loves the perimeter game more. It seems every time he drives he gets a bucket or a foul. I’d be interested to see what he does the rest of the tournament. It could’ve been a coaching decision too though.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:49 PM ^
I wonder if that has something to do with his reputation (at Wake Forest) of being a sub-par perimeter shooter and he's likely been trying to dispel that notion all season. Likely to try to improve his NBA stock. He's a very good athlete and has shot the ball well for most of the season. He'd be a great 3 and D player for a team in the 2nd round or if he goes undrafted. I hope the Pistons snatch him up after the season.
That's just me thinking out loud. Don't mistake my hypothesis for reality.
He was not good at it all season long though. He was able to do it against LSU defense because their defense is non-existent for the most part.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:38 PM ^
Juwan didn’t see any LSU defense. Neither did I.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:44 PM ^
"They told me you had gone totally insane and that your defense was...unsound."
"Is my defense unsound?'
I don't see any...defense...at all, sir."
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:09 PM ^
big time game tonight!
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:33 PM ^
Maybe it's me, I see a little 50cent resemblance.
Go Chaundee. It's your birthday. We gonna party like it's your birthday.
March 23rd, 2021 at 12:13 AM ^
2 people he resembles:
For the old heads I’d say...The old Wisconsin Badger Michael Finley.
For the even older heads I’d say...a young Billy ‘Caribbean Queen’ Ocean.

around here we'd say, 'weight room!!!'
love that he had such a special game in a clutch situation.
and while we're at it, b. johns had a very nice game, too. did lots more right than wrong. him playing regularly is bringing out the 'mr. michigan basketball' player we all hoped for. excellent. keep it rolling. beat FSU!
March 22nd, 2021 at 11:06 PM ^
Weight room is right. He's definitely bringing the gun show. Looks like he could play RB or LB.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:39 PM ^
I f-ing LOVE our Maize jerseys. So good.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:58 PM ^
On that note, I loved the Maize sideline gear way better than that dumb F’ing Nike “only us (insert team)” shit. I hope we aren’t obligated by contract to continue to wear that
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:09 PM ^
Michigan has a deep team. Not just one or two scorers.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:10 PM ^
No shit, man, I love this team. I LOVE THIS FUCKING TEAM! Talk about heart, being there to pick up a teammate, fighting back when shit looks grim. All heart...
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:54 PM ^
Did you see when Eli went down? Chaundee brought the ball past the half court line he stood there and waited for the ref to stop the game. Then he immediately jogged down to check on him. I don't think anyone else on the team made that kind of effort to make sure his brother was alright. A true leader in every sense of the word. No wonder he's one of the most beloved players on the team.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:10 PM ^
That is right, brother! what a game!
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:11 PM ^
I think it’s simple. He plays well we move on. He doesn’t, we probably lose. That open jumper he hit when he checked in was so huge. He’s a feast of famine dude, we hadn’t seen good Brown in several games. He’s the difference maker.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:16 PM ^
I feel like he was in a bit of a funk over not starting after Livers got hurt. Tonight he and Eli played like they want the season to go on.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:22 PM ^
Completely agree. I don’t think we can continue to advance without contributions like these from Chaundee
March 22nd, 2021 at 11:06 PM ^
Only way is if Franz and Smith play great. Between 3, need 2 to score at a double digit level.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:11 PM ^
Great game Mr Brown! Great game
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:12 PM ^
The stat was that the team was plus 19 when Brown was on the floor. Talk about an instant impact player. I thought John’s played a great game as well.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:23 PM ^
Johns was huge around the rim as a secondary defender, it worked great with Chaundee denying ball movement.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:58 PM ^
If Johns wasn't getting the rebound he was swatting the ball out to one of his team mates. Also had a couple of key blocks around the rim. He's going to be pretty good next year. Definitely going to make Diabate earn his minutes.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:12 PM ^
He was clutch as could be.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:13 PM ^
He was unreal.
And beyond the huge scoring night - when we needed a board, a stop, and the loose ball on the floor - Chaundee got it. He was everywhere.
What an amazing transfer from Wake Forest. Thanka for coming and being an awesome clutch and team player, Chaundee.
Go Blue!!!!
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:13 PM ^
He was due! Great job by that guy. True team player.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:15 PM ^
Not sure if it is super well known but he was a top 40 recruit to wake forest out of high school...I only recently saw that! So happy how it has worked out for him (and michigan!).
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:16 PM ^
Happy for Chaundee. Dude put in his time at a crappy Wake program and now he's finally having some fun and getting to see some rewards for his work. His contributions off the bench have been huge this year.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:18 PM ^
ChaunD and 3LI with the world-class performances tonight! Brandon Johns and TWill making some nice plays as well. THE TEAM WON THIS GAME!'
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:18 PM ^
Don't know what his final stat was in the particular category, but in the final few minutes of the broadcast Michigan was +21 for the night when Chaundee was on the floor; I believe we were up 10 at the moment.
Tonight anyway, Chaundee was The Michigan Difference.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:23 PM ^
I believe Michigan finished +19 with Chaundee on the floor tonight. Huge performance !!! GO BLUE!
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:20 PM ^
He was awesome, really came through in the clutch. I’m so happy for him and for the team.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:20 PM ^
Chaudee rose to the occasion, and then some, really ascending over LSU in second half. Couldn't be happier for him. Baller with a well earned great memories this season, especially tonight.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:21 PM ^
Hail yes Chaundee! We saw the 80% career FT shooter tonight and not a better time to bring it out.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:22 PM ^
Keep smiling Chaundee
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:24 PM ^
He was the man. Whatever happens the rest of the way he will always have this experience. Absolutely glorious.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:25 PM ^
A true Michigan Man.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:25 PM ^
I am in on this for sure. Great step up when it was needed most. So happy for him.
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:26 PM ^
I love him. Love him. Give me a whole team of Chaundees
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:26 PM ^
Reminds of Lil Jon saying “shawwty” in Lovers & Friends.
”Please tell your lovers and friends, that Eli, Brown, and Hunter has to do it again”
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:27 PM ^
What a great addition.. Hard nose , do it all player who took on a 6th man roll and became a pivotal member to the 2020 big ten conference champions. This performance was well deserved. Go Blue
March 22nd, 2021 at 10:38 PM ^
Do you think Illinois has finally thrown in the towel on being THE B1G champs?
I believe they have moved on from the big ten Conf. Champs and now in negotiations with sister jean on a shared Illinois state championship. They have a fair case. Loyola -chicago prior to any postseason play, played 30 games where Illinois played 31.
