Charlie Weis Delegates OC Duties
Charlie Weis has relinquished offensive coordinator duties to two of his Kansas assistants. After ranking 112th in offense last year and managing 119th this season, he is turning the passing game over to Ron Powlus and the running game to Jeff Blasko. Weis realized the team would not get better with him running the offensive, this despite his long, self-touted schematic advantage that he brings to the table.
SLIGHT MOD EDIT: The thread can stand, but the gratuitous and irrelevant (and in one case, misleading - "dies of obesity" made me think Weis had passed for a moment) references to Weis' weight have been removed to ensure that the discussion is a little more on-track. - LSA

Hoke should delegate his playcalling to his QB coach. Problems solved!

Downvoted for gratuitous references to his weight. I get occasional jokes about Weis's heftiness, but two jokes about it in a short OP make this seem more suited to something like RCMB than MGoBlog.

Trust your coordinators, Mr. Weis.
Hell, we trust Al Borges, right guys? Uh.. guys?

Weis isn't the first coach who couldn't handle calling plays along with his HC responsibilities, it's tough to do both.

The gripes on Borges are stubbornness and arrogance. Weis has both in spades.
It's been a few years now but I also don't really recall any of Wies' talented ND teams lighting the world on fire on O either.

The year before he was fired, Jimmy Clausen and Golden Tate were fantastic

Either way I love it.
Yeah I forgot about Tate.
We're getting away from the point of the thread but I assume you were just pointing that out to me and not actually hoping for Weis at OC, right?

Charlie Weis should be sending thank you cards and flowers to Tom Brady every day that he's still employed as a football coach in any capacity.

but in the grand scheme of things, he is a pretty minor and hapless character on the spectrum of villains for michigan. i am not sure how turning the OC duties over from one guy to two helps that much, though.

I didn't even know Charlie Weis was still AT Kansas. News to me!

the decided schematic advantage and Ron Powlus' 2 Heisman Trophies he won from Beano Cook, they're going to be some kind of powerhouse

Their remaining schedule is brutal.
2-10 is a likely outcome.

Kansas might finish with as bad a record as Michigan, right???
