Charles Woodson On Mike & Mike

Submitted by goblue224 on

It looks like Cwood is going to be on Mike & Mike co-hosting the last hour of the show. He even had a Michigan t-shirt on in the green room.

Sorry, it's my its/it's pet peeve.  Especially when people use whom when it should be who, as they then come off as someone who is trying to do it correctly, but really has no idea.

Just so I have some nice advice to go with my negative feedback, whenever you don't know whether you should say who or whom, try replacing the word with he/him, it makes it more clear whether you are using the subject or the object.

"He would make that comparison"

"Him would make that comparison"

Then you can tell your pronoun in this case is the subject and you should use who!

I never checked back to see if the dude in the other thread talking down a poster (you?) for ever listening to/watching M&M in favor of f'n Squawk Box (lol) ever took off. The guy basically called the other poster & any that spent so much as a second listening to M&M an idiot and not worthy to be a UM fan. I took offense to it even though I don't like M&M. I wrote a long reply just ruining the guy but decided is better not post it as it went beyond "snark" our even being rude. I take great pride in verbally destroying people when angry and I knew if I posted it I'd likely get bolivia'd. So, I guess the consolation is that IF nobody else noticed that interaction, I found this funny. I get it. If it jumped off & received the attention it should have due to one guy's idiocy, it's still funny & I need to look when I get another moment. Squawk Box, man! You're not UM caliber if you've EVER heard or seen Mike & Mike. It's all about that Squawk, brah.

I'm the OP that caught his flak for watching M&M.  I mean, it's 7:30 am, I'm stuck with my 5th and 8th graders b/c school was (inexcusably) delayed 2 hours, what else am I going to put on the TV.  CNN?  Disney Channel?  Australian Open?  Today?  Local Fox affiliate?  Those are my realistic options.  I went to M&M.  So shoot me.

(And, for the record, I'm from Chicago orginally and grew up 5 minutes from NU's campus, so I have that in common w/ Greenie who was from NU and covered the Bulls and Bears for years; and, of my parents, aunts/uncles, siblings, and cousins, 11 of the 13 went to ND or SMC, so I completely have that in common w/ Golic.  If I'm supposed to hate M&M, well, maybe I view them a little differently than someone else.)

I too try not to blast people here, but it was such an insulting sling at me, I couldn't resist.  I actually winced when I hit "post," thinking I'd get blasted for blasting him.  Oddly, I had some upvotes but no negs.  Then, the mods removed the guy's posts, and changed the heirarchy of the other posts, so you completely couldn't tell the context of anything. Ahh, the Interwebs, thank you Mr. Gore.

but I am tuning in on television. It's nearly impossible not to have a man crush on this dude. When he finally does retire from the NFL, I'm curious what kind of role he will have with Michigan... I assume from the way he always reps Michigan, he would like to be w/them in some capacity. Not suggesting a coach right off the bat.. but somewhere, right?

Woodson asked Greeny if he had ever been in a fight yet.

Golic and Hootie lost it. Woodson gave him shit for a few.

Ok this is a little entertaining. Woodson busting his balls has me chuckling.

Greeny told him about the little girl who took his coat when he was a kid.

Woodson says he doesn't know how to respond to that. Good stuff.

This is easily the best hour of this show I've seen. Not that I've seen an hour of this show before.

I honestly don't find M&M that bad. It's nice having national radio hosts who are both from the Midwest in terms of their roots, so they're not as biased against the B1G etc when it comes to college sports n such.

They also have a better understanding of Michigan stuff whenever we're in the news even if they're from rival schools.

Golic can be a blowhard but I think Greeny offsets him well.

There was a post a few days ago about the ideal male life. From a female perspective, I think it's Charles Woodson. He's incredibly well-respected in his profession, has reached the pinnacle, seems very down to earth and satisfied with his own accomplishments, has the wine business which is a great segue into life after football and something he obviously loves. He seems like a content person - not plagued by demons. Seems to have a happy family life - no apparent controversy. He is well-loved, involved in the community, and will leave a lasting legacy.

Any chance someone can embed the video here or provide a link to view???

Woodson is my favorite player, not because of his time at Michigan, but because of his devotion to the Packers when he was there.  Such a great man, and is ALL about the team!!!

When everyone was saying that "there was no wrong answer" in the Richard Sherman dilemma (girlfriend pregnant, set to give birth right around Sunday, should you be at the game or in the delivery room?), Woodson's comment -- "there's no right answer either" -- was very funny.

I like CW's shirt. I have been looking all over the internet looking for one like it but I can't find one. If one of you fine people on here knows of a place where I can find one I would appreciate it a lot.

I wanted michgoblue2005 but it was already taken so I went with a mixture of Michigan and Salem high school where my kids play football so that is how I came up with the name. With that being said still would like to know where I can get one of them shirts. If anyone else would like to help I would appreciate it.

... QB ever was strong and didn't seem to hinge solely on Brady winning this weekend.  9 conference championships, 6 SB, at least 3 SB wins in 13-years is the most impressive stretch in the SB era but will the 2 losses keep him behind Montana?

I used to think that about those two losses, but it is faulty logic. Those 2 Super Bowl losses are better than 2 of Montana's losses in the NFC championship games or divisional championship games, etc.

In other words, take both Montana and Brady's best 6 playoff runs. 6 of Brady's are in the Superbowl, Montana has 4 in the Superbowl and 2 losses in lesser games. That's why if Brady wins his 4th, he takes the throne as the GOAT.

And then if you factor in the nobodies brady has thrown to consisting of a different undrafted batch of receivers every few years, there is no question. The ONE year Brady had a elite WR to throw to he broke all the recordz.
