Ummm...what?! We made huge strides tonight regarding the offense, it didn't take a big football mind to realize that. "What's his deal"?! Shea finally played well, made many throws, hit the screens he's struggled with in the past (many sidearmed to get around an edge rusher), downfield throws, scrambled well. Now he's got his flaws still, he doesn't pull when he should and he scampered a few times out of a pocket that didn't need it. But the playcalling was not the issue tonight. Drops were. And a bogus fucking offensive PI call that somehow also had a defensive holding tacked on to it (have never seen that bullshit before). The run game also got going; the end of the first half and third quarter saw us figure something out and got some good chunk runs. I was also impressed by the pass protections and sure the run blocking isn't Alabama level but man they again had many good plays drawn up and executed.
Charles, take a breath man. I won't pile on Don Brown here but that side of the ball left some to be desired. They certainly got it together but some critical mistakes cost us this game.

My hot take is that we didn't really take huge strides so much as it was Penn State being not good. I think they're probably going to get exposed later in the year, and we'll find out we had an easy top 10 road win in line, and we blew it. They have one real weapon and we let that guy beat us, down to the last play.

Not good?! They're not great but only 3, 4,5 teams a year are. They are good. We also that we still have "good" in us tonight. There can be plenty of good teams across the country. I'm depleted as all hell after that but to ignore what the offense did tonight is a mistake. The offense was playing well tonight. Mistakes cost us and yea that should be filed under "is the offense good?" but to say the gameplan was poor tonight is again, a mistake. The offensive staff was dialed in this week and tonight. The defense was...when it wasn't. Ugh, it's getting tough Mr. Brown.

We made no strides. PSU let us throw under the zone all night because that was THEIR game plan. They gave us that. Those are not big strides. Being able to complete under intentionally sof coverage is not an accomplishment.

What?! This is yet again another ignorant take. The point of the game is to move the ball in whatever fashion works...we did that. And we scored. We DID throw the ball deep and we converted it, except we got jobbed for doing it. We then threw underneath and converted quite a bit, moving the ball and setting up scores. Football isn't about throwing Hail Marys. We also ran the ball pretty well too, once we figured some things out, saw some things we could out-scheme them on....and oh guess what, the throwing underneath quite possibly helped open the run game up. Your view on the game is wrong, sorry about it.

The Play calling tonight was excellent. The scheme worked quite well against an elite defense. How can we be blaming coaches for multiple dropped passes and some blatant missed pass interference calls?
