While I don't necessarily agree, I can see why they dropped Washington down- their non-conference schedule was awful. However, if they win out they'll have nothing to worry about.

Except nobody was ranked when anyone played them by this ranking body. The committee clearly thinks PSU and Colorado are undervalued by the AP, so who cares what the AP thought of them when nobody had good enough information to make a quality read on a team? There's a reason the CFP rankings don't come out until later in the season. It seems weird that the committee who makes those rankings would be concerned with what people thought of teams early in the season.

Especially at this point. Even if we end up 3 in the final rankings, all that means is that we'll be the road team in a neutral site game. It doesn't mean we have to travel to Clemson. So there's nothing to concern ourselves about at this time.

Have they determined which semifinal is going to have which game? I think I'd rather play at the Fiesta Bowl.

are usually a lot better at football than sophomores regardless of coach, though.  Yes, superb player development and coaching in the last two years but let's not pretend that the roster being the same in terms of names on jerseys means that two extra years to get bigger, faster and more experience doesn't help as well.

I've never hated herbstreit, but he has to be the only commentator who has multiple versions of his own college jersey hanging in the background. Move on dude.

If we win out (knock on wood) we will 100% jump Clemson. They play no one for the remainder of the regular season and would play current #19 Virginia Tech or #21 UNC in ACC Championship game.

We'd beat current #6 OSU and current #8 Wisco or #10 Nebraska in B1G Championship game.

All good. Just win.

"The Crimson Tide is 8-0 heading into Saturday's game at LSU. Clemson is also 8-0 after coming from behind to beat Florida State last Saturday in Tallahassee. Michigan (8-0) beat Michigan State last week, but has played only one ranked opponent all season (a 14-7 win at Wisconsin)."

Um, no ESPN, Alabama has played only one ranked opponent.

Wasn't Penn State just down a few linebackers? I don't thnk you'd disagree that doesn't explain the full 39 point differential

And I gotta agree with the above, people have been looking at Tennessee as frauds ever since the narrow wins over App State & Ohio. I think getting smoked by Bama was just expected

If they are only going to refer to a team's rank when played, the perpetual over-ranking of SEC teams to start the season will always give them a leg up.  There's a reason when they showed the initial playoff rankings and all the teams that drop out are SEC teams, except tOSU which only fell to 7.
