CFB: Week 11 Schedule - Key Matchups - what will you watch / follow?
Things are heating up and week eleven of the college football season awaits us with four (4) games involving Top 25 ranked matchups. A nice slate - our Maize & Blue play in one of them.
Big Noon Kickoff will be at the Michigan - Penn State game in Happy Valley, while Game Day will be in Athens where Georgia hosts Ole Miss.
The games that are of interest to me and the Top 25 matchups with the teams’ AP ranking noted in parentheses are:
Saturday:
- Michigan (2) at Penn State (9) – noon, Fox – Go Blue!
- Utah (13) at Washington (5) – 3:30 pm, Fox
- Tennessee (14) at Missouri (16) – 3:30 pm
- Miami (NR) at Florida State (4) – 3:30 pm, ABC
- Ole Miss (10) at Georgia (1) – 7:00 pm, ESPN
- USC (NR) at Oregon (6) – 10:30 pm, Fox – I can’t help it, some train wrecks are impossible to ignore.
Other B1G games: The B1G Wild, Wild, Wide-Open West has a few interesting games this weekend. Remarkably – Iowa, and their high powered offense, is in the driver’s seat in the West.
- Maryland (NR) at Nebraska (NR) – noon, Peacock
- Indiana (NR) at Illinois (NR) – noon, BTN
- Rutgers (NR) at Iowa (32) – 3:30 pm, BTN
- Minnesota (NR) at Purdue (NR) – 3:30 pm, NBC
- Northwestern (NR) at Wisconsin (NR) – 3:30 pm, FS1
- Michigan State (NR) at Ohio State (3) – 7:30 pm, NBC
Slippery Rock travels to Kutztown and plays for the PSAC Championship, kicking off at noon.
A new feature to this weekly thread – the “Meteor Game”. If you could select a single game where a timely meteor arrival could be arranged – where would it be? My choice – Columbus, Ohio.
What will you watch and / or follow - what's of greatest interest to you?
Go Blue!

I plan on tuning into the UM PSU game

Meteor Game: All BIG except for Michigan games. They want scorched earth, they can have it.
November 7th, 2023 at 2:05 PM ^
Whatever games aren't on ESPN or ABC.
November 7th, 2023 at 2:05 PM ^
i hope every other team experiences complete misery. I hope michigan unleashes its fiery wrath upon all who oppose us.

Hey you left out that Western is playing Central tonight in Tuesday Night MACtion!

Ono vs. Pettiti looks like a pretty compelling matchup.

My $ is on Santa
November 7th, 2023 at 2:15 PM ^
Honestly same.
November 7th, 2023 at 2:31 PM ^
More like Santa Grande vs Petite Pettiti
November 7th, 2023 at 2:10 PM ^
DePauw v. Wabash in the Monon Bell game - their version of the Little Brown Jug only it's a railroad bell they play for.
November 7th, 2023 at 2:11 PM ^
Depends on the results of this week. If the Big Ten backs down, I will happily watch our game, and a few of the conference games. If there is still a chance the Big Ten hands down a punishment, I will only watch our game. If a punishment is handed down, I will not watch any games and instead watch a YouTube highlight reel of our win.
I will not watch any ESPN/ABC games.
Money where my mouth is.

It's my daughter's 5th birthday and my son has a soccer tournament. I'll miss the Michigan/PSU game and probably catch the back end of UGA/Ole Miss and then watch USC/Oregon.
November 7th, 2023 at 2:13 PM ^
Looks like I'm all Fox on Saturday:
- Michigan
- Utah-UW
- USC-Oregon

At this point I hope that the B1G loses every big game (outside of Michigan) for all the fuckery and bullshit they have conspired to operate within over the past several seasons.
Fuck the Big Ten.
November 7th, 2023 at 2:34 PM ^
exactly. no one here should cheer for another big ten team in a bowl game ever again. Fuck em
November 7th, 2023 at 5:49 PM ^
No one here ever should have done so in the first place. That’s ESS-EEE-SEE crap.
November 7th, 2023 at 2:17 PM ^
Just like the Covid year, I won't watch anything. It is now bad for my health again. Unless we get an injunction in time for the PSU game. But why should one dime of my money go to the Big 10 when they don't give one shit about us? There will be plenty of season tickets available next year, mates. I'm done after 53 years.
November 7th, 2023 at 2:18 PM ^
I suppose I'll be watching Rece & Thamel rumble and stumble over each other trying to gather in a wet, muddied, fumbled football only to see them stare at it longingly as is rolls out of bounds.
November 7th, 2023 at 2:19 PM ^
I'm rooting for Indiana, Iowa and Minnesota
Of course I'm rooting for us.
November 7th, 2023 at 2:20 PM ^
Probably none. The stakes are too high to risk cursing Michigan by watching it live.
The Buffs game is in the middle of the workday. I don't care enough about FSU t/Miami, despite my (wrongful) rooting interest in that one.
Meteor? Columbus is a fine target this weekend. Every other outcome of that game has a downside.
November 7th, 2023 at 2:22 PM ^
My daughter sold her ticket and is coming home for the weekend so the meteor can land in Columbus although she sold it to a friend so that probably wouldn't be the best idea.
Perhaps something in the Gatorade that causes horrible diarrhea or irresistible dry heaving.
November 7th, 2023 at 2:28 PM ^
My brother is on a coaching staff at a small school down south and they’re coming north-ish, so I’ll be driving over to visit and watch his game. Unfortunately, the game is on at the same time as Mich/PSU, but I’ll follow along as best as I can and go the radio route for my drive home
November 7th, 2023 at 2:52 PM ^
I'm betting Michigan -13.5 out of principle. I hope we crush those morons.
November 7th, 2023 at 2:53 PM ^
If you're not glued to Rutgers-Iowa, can you even call yourself a football fan?
As for MSU-OSU, there isn't enough alcohol in the world to get me to watch those two teams play.
November 7th, 2023 at 3:33 PM ^
Any game that's NOT on espn..Im boycotting them a I canceled my subscription..Ive had enough of them and their anti Michigan bias
November 7th, 2023 at 3:51 PM ^
Watching my sons wrestling tournament, will catch whatever game I can on the back end.
