I'm told #MIchigan is currently exploring the possibility of signing former #Alabama OG Chad Lindsay, who is transferring from the Tide.

Stop exploring and plant the damn flag.  This would be huge.  Verstile depth and experience at a minimum.  Quality starter in the best case.  Plus the young man could get a decent graduate education.

Some Alabama fans preferred Lindsay over Kelly, and thought he had a shot at a starting job at RG. At the very least, he would've been the utility interior guy that rotates around in case of injuries. This wasn't a case of Saban cutting a scrub. We could really use him

With Glasgow being suspended for at least the first game, Miller being horrible last year, and Kugler never taking a snap, I would be thrilled to have him for leadership and competition/depth. If someone good enough to play, even though he didn't start, on that line and already familiar with the style Nuss uses, he's a valuable commodity. It doesn't hurt a long term scholarship situation and if he never plays it means it's because someone beat him out for the job. I would be ok with that.

Don't see the downside in this.  A 5th year senior (rather grad student), taking up an available scholarship just for the 1 year and experience in the new OC's system. All upside no downside here

Fowler had a couple of tweets on Lindsay last week that may be of interest. One indicates that Lindsay's decision won't be a quick one.

I'm told, by a poster on MGoBlog, #Michigan is ... Would be nice to get a legitimate source once and awhile. All this "I want to be first to report X" stuff can be lead to a lot of 'stuff' being thrown on the wall and waiting for something that sticks.

It is interesting to me that the University of Alabama football website and media guide don't list majors for their student-athletes. I wonder why they choose not to.

there are several schools that promise to "start immediately, play every snap", I have to believe if he can play in the same system he's already played in for a few years that makes the choice a lot easier.  Obviously playing time at Michigan is not a gimme but I think if you can read the story of last season and extrapolate it a bit, we'd seem to be quite happy with an experienced and physically developed 5th year senior.

If it can happen it would be a nice bit of news for the Spring.  If he transfers to a grad program can he get in on spring ball, or is it just strength and conditioning until fall camp?
