Can I get some definitions
It might be because I am over thirty, but can anyone define OT- for me. As well as the other acronyms that are used steadily on this site. I have been debating whether I should remain the guy who just nods his head and acts like he knows what everyone is talking about to try to look like he is in the loop, or the guy who says, "wait, what are you talking about?" I am going with the latter.

and I don't know why people use it. the national championship now is a hell of lot less mythical than it was 10-15 years ago.
Many use it to show their dissatisfaction with the current NC system. It continues to be popular 'round here because it was somewhat coined by Bo, and also because the last (very) mythical NC went partly to Michigan.
I'm not sure mythical is the really accurate anymore; Flawed National Championship makes more sense. On second thought, that is too similar to Fox News Channel, so I quit. Goodbye cruel world.
It may have to do with the fact that the NCAA doesn't officially recognize a college football champion, since there is no playoff.
