Can I get some definitions

Submitted by UMdad on
It might be because I am over thirty, but can anyone define OT- for me. As well as the other acronyms that are used steadily on this site. I have been debating whether I should remain the guy who just nods his head and acts like he knows what everyone is talking about to try to look like he is in the loop, or the guy who says, "wait, what are you talking about?" I am going with the latter.

Gotta love "The Hitchhiker's Guide..." One time I went to hear Dick Vitale at a buisness conference for work, and when I got in line for a signature there was a box where you could put what you wanted him to say to you. I wrote, "So long, and thanks for all the fish - Dick Vitale." I still have that book, and I think it's hillarious. You know, speaking of Douglass Adams - the alien poetry described there is much like this Barking Sphincter here!

PATFLT6 = People are too fucking lazy to take the time to type LOL = I am an idiot - not only does nobody care if you actually laughed out loud or did so quietly (people express how funny they find something in different ways), LOL has lost all its meaning of degree of hilarity due to its ubiquity - "That's [really or very or fucking] funny" is much better IMO = I am an idiot - who else's opinion would you be stating? and if you were actually stating another's opinion it should already be abundantly clear. OT = same as TO. Regular game isn't going so well (i.e., is boring) or have something better to discuss, so time out from typical discussion.

Many use it to show their dissatisfaction with the current NC system. It continues to be popular 'round here because it was somewhat coined by Bo, and also because the last (very) mythical NC went partly to Michigan. I'm not sure mythical is the really accurate anymore; Flawed National Championship makes more sense. On second thought, that is too similar to Fox News Channel, so I quit. Goodbye cruel world.

O$U or U$C = I believe that Michigan loses to their schools because they pay their players, skirt rules, and are otherwise guilty of numerous transgressions against both man and nature.
