Love watching them excel. Burke steals and fakes behind back pass for an easy layup.

Shea: Your crush is gonna ask you if you wanna ride. It is imperative that you accept.

Me: Okay.

My Crush: So, do you want a ride?

Me: I WOULD LOVE TO BUT MY MOM IS PICKING ME UP LESS THAN AN HOUR FROM NOW.

Shea: *facepalms* Pony, don't tell your crush that your mom drives you around.

Me: But then I would be lying. And lying's wrong.

Shea: *double facepalms*

I actually don’t understand why he can’t find a more permanent place in the league.  He’s proven he can score. Maybe his defensive doesn’t allow him to be a starting point guard, but certainly he can be an off the bench offensive weapon, right?  Jamal Crawford isn’t an exact comparison, but didn’t he make an NBA career out of it?

Trey has worked hard on his D ... better effort than he used to give, for sure.  If he could be a little more consist with his mid and deep jumper, his spot in the league (and probably on this team) would be much more certain.  As I’ve watched the series, he still has tendencies toward inconsistency: not perfectly squaring up automatically, for example.  Sometimes yes, sometimes no.   He’s 27 ... if he can get that last push to get over the hump, he could prove to be a valuable piece for the Mavs. They have a veteran coach who likely knows the value of year-over-year continuity for a team rapidly ascending.  Next year if he makes that final step, I bet he sticks with them.

Related issue: inconsistencies on D. It looks like he comes in with his mind right about full-out effort on D (this is progress from earlier in his career).  Then (sometimes) it’s as if his mind wanders once he starts scoring a bit.  If he can remain a DAWG on D from beginning to end, he’s very valuable.
