Whatever the reason is for DDJ to enter the transfer portal I suspect it’s unrelated to Aiken.  Seems more likely good news about Christopher. Regardless, it is confusing why he would leave and it would be nice if he reconsidered.

Maybe he was told Eli and Josh are the starting guards.  It still seems like he was slotted for starter type minutes on a team that should contend for a Big Ten Championship and NCAA run.

Why walk away from that?

Maybe DDJ was told something different from Beilein during recruitment such as "you'll be in position to be the starting PG your junior year once Simpson leaves". Now that's changed due to a new coach/ players and he isn't happy about it

Our roster is falling apart! Livers is leaving early to the NBA.  DDJ and Castleton in the transfer portal.  Transfer don't even wanna come to play for Howard!  We even have nepotism on the roster!

(Am I doing this right?)

No surprise....saw some posts yesterday that once they saw DDJ was transferring, for whatever reason, assumed that Michigan had Aiken in it's hip pocker.....ummm, no.

Guards (based on projected PT): Brooks/Christopher, Zeb

Wings: Franz, Bajema, Nunez

Forwards: Livers, Todd, Johns, Williams, Jace (w/o)

Centers: Dickenson, Davis

We will still have one open scholarship.

From the start I have preferred Mike Smith.  If that lanky forward transferring to Duke had played this year with Columbia, I think Smith would be a hot commodity as a distributor.  Watch the highlights, he had to do all the scoring himself. With Arizona already picking up a transfer PG, we may be the leader if Howard likes his game.

I understand wanting Aiken or Smith, but I think people are underestimating Brandon Wade's ability to contribute as a backup point guard next year.

I'm relieved. This guy wasn't particularly impressive even when playing against ivy league schools. It seems unlikely he would have provided any more than a couple minutes off the bench.
