Brandom Graham on Kiper's first Big Board

Good to see Brandon Graham checking in at number 25 on Mel Kiper's first Big Board of the season. While the helmet is losing ground and his touch to Todd McShay at ESPN, his research and analysis can be worth something right. His blurb about Graham is "Awesome athlete and force off the edge." ESPN is about 50 pounds off on Dunlap's weight. He's 6'6" 290, basically making him the most frightening human being on the planet.

But Kiper ain't gospel... I remember the undrafted Ken Simonton being near the top of Kiper's board.... and I know there's more, just that I can't recall right now... I think Shazor may have even been on the board for some time.

BG is undersized for a big time NFL DE but I believe that his strength and quickness will shine through this year. Early in the season he is going to see alot of Double Teams but with Martin shaded to his side of the line they are going to figure out they can't do that in a hurry. If I had to take a guess the over under for BG and MM combine sacks will be in the 20 Range. I think that the athletic ability of this Michigan line is going to be ridicules. The more that teams push to MM and BG you will see Herron destroying people off the other end to once again free up BG for a huge year. As for the draft he will go in the 18 to 22 range IMO.

There are a number of "undersized" pass rushing DEs that are thriving in the NFL right now... this is because of matchups and schemes...in the right system BG is golden...a pass rushing monster athlete with the athleticism to drop back in coverage too.....definitely a first rounder.

Also great, no Tim Tebow. I know that he's not projected to be a good pro-QB, but given the propensity of the national media to hyper-inflate his standings, it's nice to not see him on this board.
