Blake Countess - Official Visit to M Scheduled for 12/3
According to Scout, 4* CB Blake Countess is scheduled to officially visit Michigan on December 3rd. This could turn out to be a huge recruiting weekend, as Wayne Lyons is scheduled to visit as well. I just wish we could get Countess and Lyons to visit for the Big Chill weekend, as Zettel and Bryant are visiting as well. Seems like recruiting is making a turn for the better in any event.

I'd be $11.47 richer, to be exact.

not only would it be great to get a DB of his caliber, but his school (our lady of good counsel) puts out lots of talent each year. it'd be good to be able to establish a pipeline.

this is great news, getting them on campus is a great start. and i agree that would be a great pipeline to establish for future recruiting classes!

Walls or Countess is a must.
November 14th, 2010 at 2:33 PM ^
Or both
November 14th, 2010 at 2:36 PM ^
They don't play the same position; how can one or the other be a must?
November 14th, 2010 at 2:44 PM ^
They don't play exactly the same position, but it's not like one's a CB and one's a tackle.
We have a lot of guys in our secondary who can move around. It's been rumored that Cullen Christian could move to FS, and both Dallas Crawford and Greg Brown could come in and play FS. If Avery Walls come, those guys can stay at CB, and if Countess comes instead, we have the freedom to move a CB out.
Unless Greg Brown decommits, we probably don't have room for both of these guys without neglecting an area we need more (OL, LB, DL). So getting one is a must.

I think we have room for both these guys. I think we have 8 spots left. 1 OL, 1 DT, 1DE, 2 LB's, Countess and Walls. One spot saved for Watkins.

I'll take 2 OL if both Hobbi and Bryant want to come.
I think it's hard to break it down by position just now. We're not turning down Jernigan or Drew if Zettel commits.
Position breakdowns are useful as a general reference, but not set in stone.

You are right, I did forget the TE. Who do you think are guys we make room for, such as Watkins.
Question is for anyone.

Sorry for the double post. Don't know what happened.

Do you guys think that they will stay and go to the basketball game when we play Harvard?
November 14th, 2010 at 2:26 PM ^
that any recruits in for the weekend will go to that game.

I want him to come to UM..i want him to be the CB we need to shutdown his side of the field..,and i want to call him Countess Dracula
November 14th, 2010 at 2:28 PM ^
prefer that you not call him that.

If we still had Vlad the Impaler.

CountLess ints or pbus?

Countess would be a huge pick up. Add in Dallas Crawford and potentially Lyons and Walls. Wow. Thatd be a hell of a secondary for years to come. Im not counting out Courtney Avery though. He has been improving in my opinion. Anyways, beating Wisconsin and OSU would definitely solidify some more solid recruits.

We all know how that turned out :(
Angry Michigan Secondary Hating God struck Woolfolk and Floyd.
Angry Michigan Secondary Hating Admission Committee struck Dorsey.
Hope it is not a repeat of last year.

HUYGE.

I'm sure it will be an entertaining event, but it isn't a football game. Is it really preferable to have recruits at a hockey game rather than a football game as some posters have suggested?
November 14th, 2010 at 4:19 PM ^
It is quite possible that the kids attending the Big Chill are already busy on the day of the Wisconsin game, and if that is case, what better event to invite them to than the highest attended hockey game in history at the very stadium where they would be playing.

They may not be impressed with the game itself, but they should be impressed by the sold out crowd in the middle of December, and being part of a record that will likely stand for a very long time.
