Big 10 tourney....who's going?

Submitted by wisecrakker on

Got tickets for Saturday, so I am looking forward to seeing an OSU/UM rematch, then Purdue play Wisconsin.

Who else is in for a road trip?

I wish they'd rotate the site around the league.  It'd be awesome to have it in Detroit.  Maybe when the Wings get that new downtown arena?

That's possible, but unlikely. If they wanted to rotate it, it would have been in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, and probably a few other cities as well.

Not only is Indianapolis centrally located in the Big Ten, it is the center of basketball in the country. I think there are many more casual basketball fans who attend the tournament just out of general interest in the sport there than there would be in anyplace else. Not to mention, the city is by all accounts a great place to host an event like it. Safe, active, and with plenty of hotels and such near the downtown arena. That's why they chose Indy for the first B1G football game, as well as next year's Super Bowl.

Plus, there is something to be said about consistency. It is probably nice for everyone to know that the tournament is gonna be there every year for the forseeable future.

I wish I could, I'd love to see a conference tournament someday (although I'd really like to see one like the MVC or CAA, where a bid is on the line between quality teams)

Make the call to school saying "I'm sick." Then testing the new driver's license all the way to Indy! Is it in Lucas OIl or where the Pacers play?

I've had family go to the whole thing and they've said that the big games are really fun but the games between teams like IU and Iowa wear you down after watching basketball all day.

I will be there Friday, assuming we win i'm gonna try and scalp tickets to following games. I recall someone saying that UofM fans were meeting up at O'Reillys on South Penn before the game and such, hope to see you there.

The cheapest tickets there are 40 bucks. Plus the drive down there and possibly a hotel... Ain't happenin'! I'm accustomed to my 15 dollar Michigan tickets at Crisler Arena. 40 bucks is way out of my league.
