Basketball up to No. 7 in AP Poll
I suppose it is time to move on and be glad for the one sport in which we truly excel. Beat UNC!

Sweet! We’re a basketball school!

Michigan has been a basketball school for the last 5-7 years. The thing is Michigan fans don't give a shit about them for the most part which is a shame because they competed with the elite and have beaten them.

Let's just accept we are a basketball school and slaughter OSU in our true sport!

Coach B is awesome.
I expect that he will have his team prepared for the multiple looks Roy Williams will give the Wolverines both on offense and defense.
Go get that 2nd signature November win, Blue!
I hope the Crisler Center is rocking with support for this team on Wednesday.

Coach B is our Urban Meyer minus the slime, lying, douchebaggery, abuse enabling and cyst.

Beating UNC will help me completely move on from Saturday, a loss will put me back in BPONE, lol.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:53 PM ^
Please beat UNC. Beat em up good. GO BLUE!

The basketball team has constantly pulled our asses out of the fire dating back to Novaks anuerysm of leadership.
Sparty was dominating us in football. Zack a 6'4 3 star forced to play power forward willing his team to beat our biggest rival when we needed it most.
Whenever we are at our lowest, the basketball team is there to carry.
Go Blue! Beat UNC!

Well...as long as Brian Ellerbee is not coach.

I thought it was obvious he was talking about the John Beilein era...

No one cares about these rankings.

Its time to support the basketball team and getting to games!

OSU ranked #1. We're #4.

Wow 7 B1G teams in the top 25. If we win the conference definitely should be a lock for a Top 2 seed in the tourney.
November 26th, 2018 at 1:55 PM ^
Got a big one coming up on Wednesday. Beilein is going to have this team ready, and I hope Crisler is rocking that night.
Seems like over the last few years, the basketball team has almost always been around to pick this fanbase up off the mat after a letdown on the football field.
November 26th, 2018 at 2:06 PM ^
Harbaugh should take a lesson and learn from Beilein on how to alter how he coaches.
November 26th, 2018 at 4:31 PM ^
Beilein actually hasn't altered his offense that much. They run more pick and roll but they still play 4 out. The defense on the other hand....
November 27th, 2018 at 7:00 AM ^
I don't know if I'd say that. Beilein sticks to his system, but he also knows how to work with the talent he has. Our 3 ball has been rather inconsistent thus far, but we've got some guys who can tear it up inside.
Take the Villanova game for example. We shot rather poorly from three, but were unstoppable in the paint. If something's working, he sticks with it.
November 26th, 2018 at 2:52 PM ^
Please just beat up on UNC. Please help me move on. Please actually be a basketball school if that’s what it’s gonna be.

the one sport in which we truly excel
We excel in a lot of sports actually. We also were in the final four in hockey last year, for instance.
MSU would be more an example of a school that's basically only good at basketball now.
November 26th, 2018 at 3:34 PM ^
MSU is good at basketball? Maybe good relative to their other programs, but not good compared to like Michigan or Villanova. Or Syracuse. Or Middle Tennessee State...
November 26th, 2018 at 3:08 PM ^
Why does it feel that we'll rise to #4 after we beat NC and then our first two B1G games, stay around #4 all year and then get destroyed in the round of 8 in the tourney?
November 26th, 2018 at 3:14 PM ^
I don't know. It doesn't feel that way to me.
Seriously, Beilein teams almost always need time to gel, and this one still does a bit offensively, and yet we are just destroying teams because of our play on the defensive end. If we get it in gear offensively, the sky's the limit.
November 27th, 2018 at 1:09 AM ^
Because you're projecting football vibes onto basketball?
Beilein's teams almost never choke in the tournament. They always either play to their seeding or exceed expectations. The only time we were upset in the tournament was the year we lost to Ohio in the first round (2012, I think). And even that year, we overachieved in the regular season and might have been seeded too high in the tournament.
We're a basketball school and have been for a few years now. And that's as much a credit to Beilein as it is an indictment of Harbaugh/Hoke. Embrace it.
November 26th, 2018 at 3:33 PM ^
Lots of Big Ten teams toward the bottom, working their way up. Going to be a tough conference this year.
November 26th, 2018 at 3:35 PM ^
Let me get this straight - Michigan is taking on UNC with the #1 defense and nobody is nervous because how could they score on us?
Let’s keep them under 62.
November 26th, 2018 at 3:54 PM ^
that is a sick burn and actually semi-plausible
November 26th, 2018 at 4:44 PM ^
Honestly we could've rolled Livers, Iggy and Teske out in the secondary and not did much worse than we did on Saturday.
November 26th, 2018 at 6:08 PM ^
Austin Davis probably would’ve locked-down Campbell

JOHN BEILEIN FOR EMPEROR OF THE GALAXY
November 26th, 2018 at 7:48 PM ^
I have a feeling Beilein's defensive juggernaut will be up to the task, or, if not, will give a better account of itself then what we saw on Saturday from the nation's top defense. In any case, I am all in with this team. We beat the Tarheels, the sky's the limit this season.
