Baseball BTT: Semi-final vs Minnesota Open Thread
Pregame reading:
Game is on the BTN at 7pm ET, just over an hour away.
Brosnahan on the mound for Michigan. He's a redshirt freshmen lefty. Lots of emotion behind his pitches. He can be a little wild, but he's done well about it for the most part. He was a All-Big Ten Freshman teamer.
No word yet if the bar I go to will have their wifi fixed. I'll be tweeting thoughts sporadically. If it's via phone, they may not be as valuable.
Go Blue. Beat the Gophers.
Single to get going isn't clutch. Knocking in a guy from 3rd with one out, would have been clutch. Just can not do it tonight.
THIS KIND OF BASEBALL IS NOT FUN TO WATCH
Are an Eeyore. You will like it when Michigan wins.
MILLER: throw a strike
...on the comebacker. Fingers crossed.
1-5-3 DP.
yeah, saw it coming
We're in trouble.
Please, please, please....
...the intentional walk. Reset:
3-3, bottom of the 9th. 2 outs, runners on 1st and 2nd.
Miller facing Puhl.
i don't like the wide/bold block Ms on the hats.
...with Puhl. Bases loaded after the BB.
aaaaaaand i'm breathing again
...scoops up the shot to 1st and we go to extras.
...it's Lorenz, Dennis and Biondi.
Lorenz leads off with a base hit up the middle. Great start.
...for Dennis. Lead runner on second with the top of the order up.
steal 3rd!
I left to take a shower with two on, no outs in the bottom of the 9th. I figured it was over!
turrible call
...looking and it's left to Toth.
That's when the magic happens.
shireen!
sonuva beesting!
...another K with the bat on the shoulder.
Middle of the 10th.
That myrtle is having an aneurism.
(Sorry, still working on the speech recovery post-stroke.)
like we are missing a good basketball game. Bos 82 Orl 61
...Miller has no command of the strike zone.
Nice double play.
Just sayin'.
Gotta stick with Miller at this point. Our other options are more likely to walk in a run than he is.
...the DP.
she said!
Then again, I think we ALL love the DP.
...bit outside.
...to the 11th. Let's Go Blue!
team I remember watching. Baseball can be simple, and lucky. For both, you must A) throw strikes and B) put the ball in play so something can happen.
I cannot stand even 10 year olds watching pitches go by. Borderline, even bad calls cannot go by with 2-2 or 3-2 counts. Good stuff happens when lucks comes around.
It seems like every time we've been ready for that next step, we somehow forget how we've won this year. Big hits don't just happen. The other team just doesn't strikeout. If we had any "scrappiness" in this game, looking to take it to them, we'd be in the clubhouse by now.
Come on Blue, wake up!!!!
...that Maytas isn't prepared for a third inning of work.
...but at least LaMarre went down swinging. Come on Berset.
5 Ks in 8 ABs
...caught napping.
was a disgrace.
...middle of the 11th.
Can't see Matyas lasting, and they'd be thru their topp hitters for the bottom half.
So, we have Sinnery left to start tomorrow, and Katzman (rubs lucky rabbit's foot, tosses salt over shoulder and turns around three times hoping to ward off Evil Katzman), Gerbe and Wood.
We really need to win this, because I think we can maybe win one more with that lot.
This. Yes. Twice.
