I actually don't care much about the BIG Officiating Head, but I'm surprised the National Officiating Coordinator/Head guy made a comment about it:

"[N]ational officiating supervisor Rogers Redding agreed that the call should not have been overturned when contacted by CBS Sports on Monday."

Except no, that non-fumble should not have stood.

Neat, a really slowed down video shows one thing and live/real-time shows another...to me an incomplete pass.  It really is a fluky play, how often have we seen something like this where a player is making a catch, getting "pushed" and tackled backwards, not getting forward progress called, then fumbling after a stride or two?!  Making a football move is a bit of a stupid notion at times but to me this play was never a fully possessed ball where the receiving player was allowed to do anything once the ball was caught and as noted, to me makes for a non-play.

Right.  Carollo has employed John O'Neill for his entire 11 year tenure and there are a couple games every year where O'Neill is making highly questionable decisions.  Every B1G fan base (outside of OSU, seemingly) dreads seeing O'Neill showing up as a ref!

So, yeah ... take care of your own house before throwing some other conference's refs under the bus.

Sure it was a bad call, but that happens in every game.  OSU shouldn't have given up a 99-yard  TD drive, otherwise blow a double digit lead, and fail to stop Clemson from scoring after taking the lead.

Of course the B1G is going to support OSU in this situation.  But it's getting embarrassing how much they are complaining about this.

This is unprecedented for the B1G to call out officiating from other confrences given how much B1G officials suck.

Having watched both the NFL and CFP/Bowls this week, it is shocking to me how terrible college officiating is ... it is painful to watch a college game and see both on-field and video reviews that are total fuck ups.  That rarerly happens in an NFL game but every college game has shit calls everywhere.

How is this favoritism toward OSU?

Suggestion: why not step away from the computer for a few days? Contemplate the profound mysteries and magic of the natural world. Look up old friends and reminisce over old times. Start that exercise/weight loss regimen. Take up a creative hobby, like finger painting or knitting. Anything really. Just step away from the computer.

I'm going to try this myself.

Further, I've no sympathy for those assholes.  They've been catered to more than anyone in the country regarding collegiate athletics and can rightfully go eat a bowl of piss 'n cheerios.

Guys....I hate OSU as much as the next guy but come on. Whether or not you agree with the outcome of the play, it would make ZERO sense for the official B1G office to not support one of its conference members in this way. Their job is to enhance to visibility and financials of the league. Supporting one of its members in a failed bid to the national championship game is what's to be expected.

There are only two possible outcomes of the play:

1. Forward momentum stopped and play is dead

2. Incomplete pass

The other option is irrelevant.

BTW we beat OSU in 16 and 17 with fair officiating.

This is because the receiver establishes and maintains possession while going out of bounds. The sideline ends the active play and the only thing left is maintaining possession.

In this case, because the receiver does not go out of bounds, the play ends when his forward momentum has been stopped and at that point he just has to maintain possession of the ball. Thus, only two possible outcomes as mentioned above is accurate, no fumble because of progress or no catch.

This is similar to a running back who runs into a defender who proceeds to drive him backward while forcing the ball out, it would not be ruled a fumble. However, if a running back starts to get driven backwards and then he breaks free and begins to move up field again and the ball comes out, it would be a fumble.

And when OSU needed him most, Jim Delaney could not impose his influence on the call...

The real crime in all of this is JT Barrett was short in 2016...

Great. We're screwed now. No non- big ten crew will cut any big ten team a break moving forward. F-ing brilliant. But like someone else said,   it's the same guy who keeps O'Neill employed.

Of course.  The refs work so hard to get OSU into the playoff every year, so why wouldn't they do this.  I personally thought the overturn was a bad call, but that makes it even better.  OSU has gotten favorable officiating for decades now, it's about time they got screwed over.  The fact that it ended their best chance at a national title for the foreseeable future makes it all the more sweeter.
