B10 Title on the Line: 11am BTN

Submitted by Michigan Arrogance on May 14th, 2022 at 8:13 AM

11am on BTN: (4) Michigan vs (2) Nebrasker.

Neb went 2-0 over M the 1st weekend of the conf. season in March. However, they never played Northwestern (the reg. seasons champs who M beat in dramic fasion last night).

Expect Storako in the circle, she didn't pitch yesterday against the 'cats. However, Hutch may go off the board depending on how she feels about the results against the Huskers and who was in the circle for those two losses. /hedging

A win might lock in a 2 seed for M in the NCAAs, but this likely doesn't matter much since a 3 seed is probably already locked in and the 3s plays the 2s anyway in the opening rounds. More important is the draw against the host (top 16 national sees).

In other news, M W lax beat the snot out of ND to advance to the NCAA 2nd round against NW. Tough draw against the 'cats but that was a big win for the program and the Director's Cup so if that's the way it ends for WLax (beating ND in the tourney) so be it. Men's Lax did not make the NCAA tourney.

Baseball lost by one to Maryland. They need to win the B1G Tourney to make the NCAAs. Long shot with limited pitching depth.

M & W T&F are in the back half of the B10 standings after day 1 of the conf championship.

I think I figured out the decoder ring...  You have some more studying to do under Ghost of Jermaine's tutelage before you're ready for prime time - but this was a good effort!

So softball is going for the B1G Tourney Championship this morning.  Women's lacross is into the 2nd round of the NCAA Tourney.  Baseball lost again and needs to win its B1G Tourney to get an NCAA invite as fodder for southern teams.  And both track and field teams are not doing well in the B1G Tourney.

So, basically, our Director's Cup hopes are relying big time on Hutch's ladies and the women of lacross.  They can bring it home - I have faith in them!!  GO BLUE!!!

There are some other sports as well. Mens tennis is currently #5 and in the Super Regionals. The women just lost in the 2nd round of the NCAAs, but that still brings points in the Director’s Cup.

Water Polo had a top 8 finish last week, although Stanford won the national championship there.

Women’s golf just advanced to the NCAA Finals alongside 23 other schools.

Softball and Baseball both at least making the tournament brings much needed points to hold off Stanford’s spring sports run. A deep run would do wonders.

Momentum is on the side of the Lady Wolverines. It was fun watching Taylor Bump hit the top of the 7th inning 2R-HR off NW last evening. Go Blue!

EDIT: The big HR came in the top of the 7th with 2 outs.

Lexie Blair with a walk, then steals second and ends up on third when the throw trickles away from second---we've got an opportunity to tie this one up.

This fucking ump too man, keeps giving Farrell the outside corner pitches that are way outside,  sigh.

Maybe she sang happy birthday to him at her restaurant.

Bullshit call, watching the shadow on the ground, there's clearly sunlight between the runner and the attempted tag!

With the hard hitting broadcasters in the booth, I have no idea what was called on the field or why they called her out after the review.  I was assuming they called her safe on the field but then called her out for going out the baseline - that was my assumption as there is no way they could have called her out for being tagged after looking at the replay.  Whoever those two ladies were in the booth, they offered up absolutely nothing for an explanation or even a guess at what happened.

I can only conclude that it was either she was called out for going out of the baseline or that the initial ruling was that the tag was made and it wasn't conclusive to overturn.

How with video review can the umps get things so wrong?  I've had it with B1G umps being so piss poor. Maybe it was the shitty little screen they use on the field.  Video reviews should be done in a studio.

Man, of all the luck to get screwed by the umps in B7th.

Storako gets the 1st two batters out with no problem and now gives up a walk and 2 doubles.

Fuck you BTN and your shitty ass officiating across the board.
