Are we planning anything classy for UVA when they visit Crisler?

By that I mean are we going to show we empathize with them with them dealing with that tragic shooting a week ago? Like give them a standing ovation as visitors as they enter the court? Think that would be an awesome thing to do

Well if Sunday was any indication we will be giving them a big comfortable early season W.

Aside from that, I think there will probably be some form of acknowledgment and a moment of silence.

We could let them shoot uncontested jumpers, bang the offensive glass, relax on D because we can't throw it in the ocean and never go for our own offensive boards, watch us miss free throw after free throw after free throw and out hustle us up and down the floor for 40 minutes.

Truth! One of the best programs in the country and yet every year we have fans constantly crying about how terrible the team is and how the sky is falling on the program. And most of said fans know nothing about basketball other than how to turn on the tv and find the correct channel.

They're college kids and it's November. Have some patience and enjoy the success we've had the last 5 plus years.

Why can’t I enjoy the success they’ve had, recognize this is a fun talented bunch and share my opinion about how we’ve looked so far on a sports blog. We haven’t shot the ball well, yet our shooters never follow their shots and none of wings are crashing the boards. At times we’ve looked flat and getting out worked on the defensive end, we’re shooting abysmal from the feee throw line. I’m not doom and gloom for the season and I’m not knocking anyone or want a new coaching staff. I just think we could correct a few mental things rather easily and give a little more effort on defense and offensive glass

They look like one of the worst teams in the B1G so far. Getting to the Sweet 16 last year was great but that team was still mediocre, especially compared to its talent level. This year's team seems like much of the same. Howard hasn't corrected the defense, the rebounding, or the shooting, but turnovers are better for sure.

Confidence in the basketball team is at an all time high i see...

I hope that because basketball is floundering so badly, our football team will reach new heights this season to compensate.

The hockey struggles hopefully continue for 1 more week just to get this Saturday done in our favor.

I'd strike that bargain 42 times a week, and 27 on Saturday.

Yes, and this team has just a ton of turnover on it from last year.  It's asking a lot for them to have gelled into a cohesive unit five games into the season.  I've long thought of college basketball seasons as chemistry experiments.  Nice job getting last year's experiment to work - now we'll replace some of your ingredients with other ones and have you figure it out again.  In this case almost all the ingredients are brand new.  There's some trial and error required.

This may sound crazy but Pitt may end up a better team than ASU at the end of the season. That should tell you all you need to know. We are hanging our pessimism on a team that shot 35% from Tartleton State and Texas Southern. It was a horrible night and I think their shooting really threw our guys off.

We are decent team IF

-Llewellyn can hit the broad side of a barn. His defense isnt Simpson level so he cant make up for it on the other end.

-Koby stops being an absolute liability outside of 8 feet.

-The combo of bad defense on drives while also bad defense on 3 point attempts is troubling.

-Free throws will fall these guys are not bricklayers (at least not from 15 feet unguarded)

Get your backcourt shooting right and everything changes.
