Minnesota got 7 vote-points in the AP poll. We got 6. Duke got one.
November 3rd, 2013 at 12:53 PM ^
What did you expect, to move into the top 10?
November 3rd, 2013 at 12:53 PM ^
Not really a whole lot to say this week when it comes to vote distribution obviously, but there is this - 3 voters did ranks us. Just the three.
More specifically:
22nd - 1 vote
25th - 2 votes
unranked - 57 votes
November 3rd, 2013 at 12:55 PM ^
Sad to say, we don't belong in the Top 35.
November 3rd, 2013 at 12:59 PM ^
And Brandon should drop Hoke from the team, pathetic. Big Blue is baby blue and OSU and State will be are daddys as long as Hoke is at Michigan.

November 3rd, 2013 at 1:00 PM ^
Still 4th in the pecking order and they need us to be a 'good win' for them. Now all they've got is unranked Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan and then a game against likely #15ish MSU. Nothing that's going to propel them past Oregon or FSU
November 3rd, 2013 at 1:08 PM ^
At this point Ohio would likely also get jumped by one loss Stanford should they beat Oregon, a 1 loss SEC team, and Baylor should they remain undefeated.
November 3rd, 2013 at 1:29 PM ^
I think OSU is a lock for the BCS title game if they're one of two or less undefeated teams. The Big Ten sucks, but no one will be able to justify putting a one-loss team in over a pretty dominant OSU. Their nightmare scenario is 2+ undefeated teams, then they're on the outside looking in
November 3rd, 2013 at 1:40 PM ^
Looking at the BCS standings Stanford looks like they would jump OSU if they beat Oregon. Stanford would also have UCLA waiting for it in the Pac12 title game.
November 3rd, 2013 at 2:31 PM ^
I doubt that happens, but I'd pay money to listen to Ohio fans if it did.
November 3rd, 2013 at 3:21 PM ^
Stanford plays Oregon this week so it could become moot in a few days. Will see - will be a fun one to watch (I hope)
November 3rd, 2013 at 4:06 PM ^
I want Bama/Oregon with OSU on the outside looking in.
November 4th, 2013 at 12:09 AM ^
isn't a lock for the conference title game. In fact, ASU is in first in that division. ASU and UCLA still have to play each other.
November 3rd, 2013 at 2:04 PM ^
They aren't that great. Much better than Michigan, of course, but not national championship caliber. OSU would lose 7 of 10 to Oregon and 10 of 10 to either FSU or Alabama. And for the latter two, OSU would be to them what Michigan was to MSU.
Why get embarrassed Michigan-style when you can go to a lesser game that you might win? That way you can always claim you could have won the title if you only had a chance? I know that's the cowardly way to think, but the B10 rep has suffered enough with OSU title game embarrassments.
November 3rd, 2013 at 2:23 PM ^
I am hoping for an OSU snub. The SEC's current exalted place in the media began with Auburn's snub in 2004. The media gets tired of the same old shit after awhile. Soon, they will be bored with the SEC and it will be someone else's turn. The Big Ten could fit quite nicely, especially if PSU and Nebraska get back to being elite teams.
Think two or three years down the road, with the Big Ten having elite teams in Michigan, Ohio, PSU and Nebraska, and semi-elite MSU and Wiscy. I also wouldn't rule out one more expansion and one more elite team.
In three years, the SEC could be the conference on its way down and the Big Ten could be the media darling, especially if a real NCAA investigation is ever done in Tuscaloosa.
I am not saying any of this will happen, but I am saying that the SEC was the conference that was snubbed with an undefeated team not all that long ago.
November 3rd, 2013 at 3:49 PM ^
I have no idea why you would expect PSU and Nebraska to eclipse MSU and Wisconsin. There's nothing that suggests that.
November 3rd, 2013 at 6:39 PM ^
It would certainly be amusing to have Urban start with two consecutive undefeated seasons and no chance to compete for a national title in either
November 3rd, 2013 at 7:05 PM ^
This business about Michigan being an elite team in a couple of years...interesting assumption. There's not much of a body of work yet to support it.
November 3rd, 2013 at 3:19 PM ^
i'd rather have a few title game embarrassments than no title game appearances... "we were there" tends to resonate with recruits, does it not?
November 3rd, 2013 at 3:09 PM ^
I'm personally fine with Michigan being unranked as I am with them being ranked in the low 20's.
Pending what happens this week, it won't matter where Michigan is ranked if the other teams are undefeated. OSU was never gonna go to the title game to begin with.
November 4th, 2013 at 12:14 AM ^
NU shitting the bed doesn't help the buckeyes either. Probably the only Top 25 teams OSU will beat are Wisky and possibly MSU in the title game.
November 3rd, 2013 at 1:02 PM ^
Never thought, at the beginning of the season, even before the 1st two games, we'd fall this far. We're being punished for trying to be a MANBALL team that's been castrated by Sparty. Hail to the Eunuchs!
November 3rd, 2013 at 1:04 PM ^
Wow, your trying to rip OSU. Thats crazy I would sell my soul to have Urban Meyer as a coach cause I can guarantee that with what ever players are here we would win. Wining is all thats important unless your an OLD BLUE. Michigan should do what ever it takes to get big ten championships and national titles, but weve been reduced to a crappy regional program that will be the wooping boards for OSU and State

A win over Nebraska isn't going to move them back into the top 25, and a split with Iowa/NW isn't going to do much either. If they win both of those, they might sneak back in, but a sure loss to OSU the next week is going to drop them right back out.

ohio's defense won't be as stout as MSU's so we might be able to keep it close.

Because our OL will handle the team speed of the OSU DL? /drink

I do believe the RB production was actually better this game. Devin just sakced a billion times. Fitz averaged 2.5 ypc against MSU and obviously 1.0 ypc vs Penn State

What's that? It was all awful, no matter how you looked it? Well, f me.

This was not meant as a critique saying Michigan should be ranked 11th or anything. I just saw the poll was out so I posted it because no one else had yet.
November 3rd, 2013 at 2:28 PM ^
How is this a surprise to anyone? I bet we don't crack it again unless we win the next 2 games and then go into Iowa ranked 24th. No reason to believe we are a top 25 team since we can't beat a top 25 team (except for ND).
November 3rd, 2013 at 2:32 PM ^
Seems right. I do think MSU will make a solid run because that defense is so good that the offense just needs to be competent.
