Android App....disappeared from Play Store

Submitted by wisecrakker on November 23rd, 2021 at 8:43 AM

Phone crashed and had to be replaced but during the reload process the app seems to have disappeared for android store.

Searched for previous posts but was unable to find anything related.

Is there a link to app available?

Thanks

Pretty sure they killed the app a few years ago with the release of the redesigned site.

Ever since they did that, I've been a less frequent visitor. It used to be a quick refresh of the app to see the new posts. Now you have to go to the website, and it's harder to navigate on a phone.

There isn't a traditional app. Open mgoblog in chrome and then click the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner (next to the url). Hit add mgoblog to homescreen. Close chrome and check your desktop. Mgoblog will be there.

RIP the old IOS app. I know it was unofficial and certainly want the blog to stay "free" so I'm happy to support it in whatever fashion it needs to be supported.

That said, it was simple. Clean. Mostly text. Ominous black and white 80's hair metal rocker lurking over every great article Brian wrote. Boy did she purr.

Hoke truly did spring eternal back then.

The MGoBlog HD App was so user friendly when it came to the board. Posting was much easier, and scrolling as well.

I'd be willing to pay a subscription fee for that app. Whoever designed the old app should be put on for the site and the amount they'll make from it (heck even have some sort of ads visible on the app) will more than cover the costs.

I really miss it. It was so simple to scroll through the new posts both on the main feed and on the board. Was a quick and easy way to interact with the site. Now I pretty much only come here when I'm sitting at a computer because of how clunky it is to navigate on a phone.

I would pay for the App on the App Store if it were available still.

The Android app has been gone a long time. Create an "app" through Chrome and put it on your home screen. It's gives a direct link to the mobile-friendly version of the page. It actually works quite well.
