Ace's new venture: The Bucket Problem

Submitted by Blake Forum on July 6th, 2021 at 12:33 PM

Ace Anbender, whom you may remember from blogs such as this one, has a new independent media project. It's called The Bucket Problem, and apparently it'll feature podcasting and newslettering. Those of you who wanted to see what Ace would get up to next, here's your answer. Looks like it'll be mostly Michigan-centric, including football and men's and women's basketball, but may range a bit. In my humble opinion, it's definitely worth a (free) signup.

I just read the first one. Any idea what this means?

"a good faith (and ongoing) effort to eliminate certain language from our collective vocabulary in the podcasts."

In the words of Norm MacDonald, "No offense, but that sounds like a bunch of commie gobbledygook."

Glad to see a bunch of people who absolutely want nothing to do with Ace posting multiple times in a thread about his new venture how they aren't remotely interested in it.

Wish him luck even though I didn't always agree with him.  He still did good work here and hope he's happy.

Ace provided some great content through the years. He went off the rails in banishing XM with the claim that XM pretended to be a black man ( I can understand the confusion, but XM never claimed he was black), and used the email XM registered to track him down and show that he was a white man.

It isn't worth rehashing all of this again but XM did not disabuse people of the notion he was black when he'd apparently browbeat actual POC on this blog about their views on race, and at other times told people he was in fact a white guy from the TC area.  Ace did not use his email address to look up his melatonin level.

Ace didn't go by the name Ace "The Airbender" Anbender. It was a missed opportunity. And I don't like that he missed it. For that reason, I'm out.

^ Ding! Ding! Ding! You my friend win the internet today.

Finally someone who doesn't get all worked up over some other person's beliefs. This is called tolerence. I wish more people on this site might try it. If you don't like what someone has to say simply scroll on, it's that easy.

I have refrained from posting until now. I even defended Ace to Mgrowold as some will recall. But there is a complete difference between someone who has “different opinions” than me or anyone and someone like Ace who is much more an extremist. He doesn’t just have differing opinions from people. He believes there is no “opinion” just fact and the fact is whatever he believes the fact to be. Aka he is always right to an extreme degree. Tolerance works for like 85% of the population and I agree our culture needs to learn to be way more tolerant. I’d guess we’re at about 40% or so on that. But Ace is for sure in that 15%. There is a reason so many are speaking out against him on a site that used to love him. So people disagree with Brian, but obviously you don’t see hate for him. Because you can do disagree with him and everyone acts normal. Like an adult. And then there is what people are talking about with Ace. I hate to even post this. As I try to see everyone’s best side and find something good or agreeable about them. But there is essentially nothing there for Ace. I can see why he gets the hate he does unfortunately. And this isn’t political or anything for me. Because honestly I don’t give a crap about politics. I think Biden is doing some things well and some poorly. I think Trump did some things well and some things very poorly.I think Obama did some stuff well and some poorly. You get the point so on and so on. The fact is Ace just isn’t a very likeable guy in any fashion. And he’s really not someone you can just “tolerate” or disagree with. There is no agreeing or disagreeing with him. You either believe what he says or you are literally trash to him basically. Again this comes from someone who defended Ace. Because again I try to see everyone’s good side and see what they are going through or their point of view. Not saying I hate him or wish him ill. I don’t have an opinion either way there. But my point is you can easily objectively see why people say what they say about him and why they don’t just tolerate him. Sorry long post for someone who doesn’t really care. Again I wish him no ill. Hopefully he does well. From a neutral third party. Just stating the obvious facts here.
