Right, defense in the NBA is the worst...except for every other basketball association in the history of the sport.
I mean, you can always point to some guys getting lazy on the weak side on a non-playoff squad in March, but the defense played in the modern NBA is way better than what you see in college, way better than in previous eras of the NBA (go back and watch old Golden Era '80s games if you don't believe this), and way better than any other modern pro league.

I just looked up the population of Serbia: 7.1 million. That's all? I would have guessed it was a lot more than that. They seem to be good in a lot of sports for a population that size. The state of Michigan is almost 30% more populous.

Refering to the USABMNT as a "team" is an insult. They look like 12 guys who volunteered to spend a few weeks playing pickup basketball against the rest of the world. There's no defense, a serious lack of ball movement, and it doesn't look like anyone wants to rebound. They're getting by on pure talent, but once they get out of group play they could easily get bounced from the tournament.

So a potential loss is somewhat mitigated. Win-win.
August 12th, 2016 at 8:35 PM ^
???
Wouldn't that be a 'lose-win'?
Or a 'silver lining'?
Or a 'glass half something'?
Or something about a yellow citrus fruit and water/sugar combo?

I couldn't believe it. It looked like she lost ground on that last turn, but then all the sudden she put the after burners on.

Surprised the announcers haven't said anything yet about if/how many times there have been THREE-way ties for medals. Will be a crowded podium.

Hey, I'm in the same shape I was 16 years ago. It's no big deal.
I was unathletic then, and I'm just as unathletic now.

I don't like how these announcers say things like "he won by three one-hundredths of a second". It's hundredths. The "one" is implied. You wouldn't say "three one-quarters" of something.

One of my pet peeves is the use of "one-half yardline" in football. Ain't no such thing, my dawg

Well I certainly wasn't expecting the complete and utter dominance of the US swimming team this year. I even made a comment prior to the Olympics that I thought we were going to suck. Now we have more gold medals than the next country has total medals in swimming. Just outstanding! USA USA USA USA

Ledecky has never lost an international race. She has never heard a national anthem other than her own.
That's insane.
You would think she would want to lose a race once, just to see what it's like.
Who knows, she may be as bad a loser as Hope Solo. We will probably never know.
